Actually you're not too far off. Go back a bit and you'll find that lobsters in America were thought of as rather disgusting, not entirely unlike cockroaches. They were used to feed prisoners in Maine. That was their market, food for prisoners who simply had no choice.

If that’s accurate, then that is hilariously ironic given that lobsters are now more akin to “rich people food” because of how expensive it is to sell them on a large scale.

Yeah, this is going back over a century ago when lobsters were a lot more plentiful there.

But what makes them so different from insects that eating the latter is so horrible in comparison? People already eat insects in some parts of the world as it is.

Not all insects are bugs either.

They all, however, are arthropods - insects and crustaceans, amongst others.
Part of the reason why they're said it taste quite a bit like each other.

In some cases, yes, if they see them on a daily basis from a particular individual, they will target them en masse and look them up everyday.

I almost feel sorry for them, because they post more in 15 minutes than I do all day, and I'm here all day! Of course, I post, go elsewhere, come back, and all over again, but still, day after day year after year... How could they not get bored with it already, doing the same thing over and over again? They'll even post on memes where the OP's never comment at all. On anything. What's the point of that?
