You know what, as unrealistic as it would be, I actually like that idea. I think it’s worth discussion.
I think it’s cool in that it essentially allows citizens themselves to vote on what tax dollars are spent on, which fits in the individualistic nature of modern American culture. However, I think it has a potential shortcoming in that it could possibly lead to essential services being underfunded. And of course, it’s unlikely to ever gain traction in congress because it could mean their paychecks get a slash when many citizens would rather fund schools and their local fire departments instead of filling the overstuffed pocketbooks of them.
But overall, sounds like a fun idea to workshop
