But it is sad that the squirrel was killed, plus unnecessary and cruel.

But nevertheless it is ironic that the anti-women's health/rights, pro-capital punishment, pro-hunting contingent who use squirrels for target practice are upset about this.

Every year tens of thousands of people buy rabbits as pets for their kids on Easter. Couple of months later, Hoppity the Bunny ain't so cute anymore, so they turn them in to the ASPCA. The ASPCA doesn't even try to adopt them out, they just automatically kill them.

I don't hear any of these people protesting those rabbits getting killed.

And then you pass by a week later and see the dog that you reported in horrendous conditions is still in the same horrendous conditions. And then you call them again, and they do the same shit, nothing.

Which, is kind of almost better because then you wonder if they actually did something or did it just end up with the dog being killed by them.

According to the DEC and the Chemung County Department of Health, Fred and Peanut were euthanized after a person involved with the investigation was bitten by Peanut.

Oh, that explains it. The only way to test for rabies is by killing them. They have to test for it in their brain or spinal column or something like that. I didn't know they were two of them.
