It's not diversity that's the problem, it's discrimination against whites and gingers. Straight, white males have literally never been more unemployed than they are now; and when race and gender are the goal of human resources, merit and qualifications suffer.

Here's the difference - melting pot was things like small neighborhoods that have people who congregate their who have everything in common heritage wise like a China Town or Little Italy. They usually keep to themselves and don't bother anyone live outside those areas.

Yep. But also those people that moved out of those insular neighborhoods for a better existence did not try to ram their Italian or Irish -- or whatever identity down the throats of everyone else. They MELTED into the general culture and just became . . . Americans.
