It's not so much about belief than simply spreading propaganda.
In fact, from the looks of it, they seem to prefer outright falsehoods as that is what Trump loves to indulge in. That's why none of it seems to even try to make sense, because it doesn't have to, as the more fanciful, the more likeable for the target audience.
It's like Lord of the Rings. Some magical all-powerful ring that will make the wearer godlike, but for ages it's been stuck in a jar on some old lady's shelf or some crap like that (I'm not that familiar with the story) and she won't use it even when her entire village gets slaughtered by a monsterous zombie army. Thafrig makes the gold ring magical, a backwards Latin inscription on it? Or is that Evil Dead?
Anyways, the story is completely ridiculous, but it's a cute fancy adventure with some annoying teens with somewhat biggish feet roaming over the hills and encountering this and that just so they can throw this rign into a volcano. And this for three really really long movies about the same ongoing thing.
I tried watching the first one on tv once, and didn't even make it to half an hour, and it's what? Three hours long or something like that?
That's what the whole Trumper thing is about, Fantasy and Orcs and Elvens and dragons and the future of a quaint little bucolic village tucked away in the hills on the brink of impending doom blah blah blah blah blah blah,,,
