Actually when a new outlet lies, a provable lie. It is no longer reliable. Willful gaslighting and biased favoritism towards political and corporate interest. The page turners, narratives to sway. It is more then shear opinions. Opinions do factor in a bit yet it is the media’s track record that drives it.

Upvoted. Good meming; but also simultaneously true and in error.

For most people -- alas -- it is spot on true. The false bit is where conservatives come into play because it harks back to what Ronald Reagan said when explaining the fundamental differences between conservatives and liberals: "If you want to anger a conservative, then lie to him. If you want to anger a liberal, then tell him the truth."

As much as conservatives might be somewhat party-loyal to the GOP that's only because it comes much closer than the Dem Party to upholding proven conservative values, the bedrock of any long term successful civilization. But in search of the Truth versus 'feel-good' Validation, conservatives WILL walk away from comforting falsehoods. Mostly liberals will not.

IMO, at that time of Reagan's words, Marxism's infection of Liberalism had to be visible to a lot of people. Maybe something could've been done to save what used to be Liberalism back then but now it's way too late.
