Love always leaves a trail of evidence. I can look at your bank account and see how you spend your time, and I can easily tell if you love someone. I can also look at your calendar and tell. Love is an action verb, and all actions leave trails of evidence that prove they happened. Words and feelings are not love at all, even if they seem like they are; they are not. If you love someone, you'll prove it all the time you love them.

If your bible is to be believed, and God loves any particular person or group of people, there would be evidence to prove it; but there is no evidence at all of love, or even of the existence of this invisible God. In fact, there's a name for it -- "divine hiddenness." No, all we really have are virtue signaling people, and collection plates full of money that make others rich, or the money is used to create more dependent poor people by giving them things they want/need without making them work for them, or used to spread more myths, or pay a bunch of staff to sit around and make up this crap while literally contributing nothing to society, or used to build a massive building.

No, I’m sorry to tell you this, but your "personal relationship" with god is solely between your ears, within the confines of your own mind. This is why your god can seem so very real to you. In a very real sense, he is real because HE ... is YOU. This is why your god's opinions are so very often your opinions. This is why two believers of the same religion can both claim to agree with god's opinion but not with each other's. When you pray and god gives you answers, YOU are the source of those instincts, those intuitions, those feelings, those "insights." When you pray and you believe you're hearing the voice of god, you're simply having a conversation with yourself but you don't want realize it. This is why god can always assuage the doubts of the believer. Your "god" knows exactly how you think because he is you. He knows your tastes, your biases and all the gaps in your logic.

Therefore it follows that "he" knows what arguments you will find compelling and what mental gymnastics you are capable of to ignore any arguments to the contrary and the way you'll neatly make everything fit into your worldview, excusing and ignoring anything that doesn't. He knows how you'll move the targets to accommodate your beliefs, how you'll excuse the most horrific behaviors by him in his book. He knows how you'll excuse murder, rape, torture, ignoring the pleas of innocent people, killing those who aren't in the right tribe, abortion (“ripping up” the pregnant wives of your enemies), or enslaving people and then beating them within an inch of their lives.

Doubting your “salvation” or your faith is evidence that your mind is fighting back against the ridiculous concept that an inter dimensional being actually exists and cares about your individual life or any human life for that matter. I probably can't convince you of anything stated above because of the very fact that you are your "god".

No, the "personal relationship" you have with your god/gods/deity is ... let's face it ... just a genuine, deep-seated, heartfelt, and active relationship with yourself, with YOUR own ego. There is no god. There is no deity. There is no magical place in the sky called heaven where everything is perfect and you sing to your god 24/7/365, nor is there any place of eternal torture that's inflicted by your "god of love" for an infinite amount of time because of finite “sins” committed by those who failed to believe in an invisible entity that refused to manifest himself to those people in a meaningful, verifiable way. Again, infinite punishment for finite offenses … steal a pen from work and suffer for all eternity. How can anyone call that love?

After spending the five decades of my life as one of those staunch, apologetic, argumentative believers, I have become convinced that all religions and other supernatural beliefs are cultural phenomena of a purely human making as science slowly dismantles all those beliefs. The old "god of the gaps" phenomenon gets more and more silly as each gap in our knowledge and understanding is filled with scientific discovery and explanations that actually make sense. "Faith" is no longer required to explain the common cold, comets, viruses, eclipses, birth defects, pregnancy, death, disease, mental disorders, chance, dreams, even those "tingly" intuitions that you attribute to your invisible, non-existent deity.
