Donald Trump wants to take America back to 1956. If that means going back to . . . gainful employment; sweet shops with lunch counters; rock and roll; streetcars; passenger rail; vibrant urban centers; . . . then I'm all for it. But if going back to 1956 means putting women back in the kitchen, hanging black people from trees, getting rid of the EPA, and big cars with chrome tailfins (yuck), then I'll pass.
