FOOTBALL, DREW BLEDSOE? | made w/ Imgflip meme maker
So, you're not so familiar with a full season in the NFL.

This is a false comparison. A Football Game is comparable to where we are at in the Election Cycle. It's a head to head situation, not a series of head to head competitions like a Full NFL Season.

If you want to compare it to the full season.. fine. It's the Super Bowl. We are down to two teams. The AFC and NFC Champions.

Team A from one Conference is winning by 14 points. Team B from the other Conference is losing. The Conference representation for Team B - can't just up and switch out the entire team for the Team that lost to Team B in the conference championship, because they think that other Team has a better chance at winning the rest of the game.

There you go - a true comparison. It's funny when you don't understand true comparison.

Things change: aren't you glad we have a competent non-felon to step up? | IT'S A THING | image tagged in kamala harris,election,2024,democrats,president | made w/ Imgflip meme maker
We're in the election season, but, hey, guess what the Vice President's job description and single biggest duty is (US Constitution, Article 2, Section 1, Clause 6 -- to take over the duties of the President when the President is incapacitated. The ONLY person who could be reasonably tapped to take over when Joe Biden suddenly decided that he could not continue is the person whose job that was. Which is why we have a Vice President, and why every NFL team has a 2nd and a 3rd string quarterback.

Presidential and Vice Presidential duties do not require those folks to go for office again. Running for Office isn't a Presidential Duty. Ergo - stepping in if he steps out of a Presidential Race is not a job description of the VP.

Nice try though

YOU SAID PRESIDENT BIDEN
WAS IN NO CONDITION TO RUN HE AGREED WITH YOU:
NOW YOU GET TO DEAL WITH WHAT COMES NEXT | image tagged in constitutional convention | made w/ Imgflip meme maker
According to the Brookings Institute, here's what happens if a candidate becomes incapacitated (or dead, absit malum omen!) after the primaries but before the election:

"If the candidate dies or is incapacitated between mid-June 2024 when the primaries are over and before the Wednesday night of the nominating convention (the traditional time for the roll call vote) THE CONVENTION WOULD BECOME WHAT CONVENTIONS USED TO BE before reforms made the primaries dominant (minus the smoke-filled rooms.) Delegates would arrive in Milwaukee (for the Republicans) or Chicago (for the Democrats) largely uncommitted. They would then engage in the arduous process of deciding who their nominee should be. Presidential hopefuls would go from state delegation to state delegation making their case as did Sen. John Kennedy and Sen. Lyndon Johnson as recently as the 1960 convention in Los Angeles. " [emphasis added]

from https://www.brookings.edu/articles/what-happens-if-a-presidential-candidate-cannot-take-office-due-to-death-or-incapacitation-before-january-2025/

You all complained and yelled about President Biden being in no condition to run -- so it's weird that you're complaining when he agrees with you, but it's your Constitutional right to be fickle, flighty-headed things, I guess.

Biden isn't incapacitated though now is he? If he's able to do his duties as President which he is doing... He's not incapacitated.

What you're describing happens when someone cannot do their duties for various reasons. If Joe Biden is still doing his job as President... He's not unable to keep running for President.

What you're referring to only applies when the person dies, goes brain dead, maybe even gets captured by enemy forces -- or otherwise cannot complete their duties.

Again - NICE TRY

Not too familiar with medical decision-making? You must be a healthy young fellow, congratulations! It's fairly common for an older person to recognize that they are physically fit for some activities, but not for others or longer-term commitments. Biden's position seems more reasoned and honest than your candidate's.

I'm not the one who said he's sharp and fine to run. That is as the Democrats and leftist media that said that. When they were saying that - I was saying he was brain dead.

If I'm right and he's brain dead - he has no business still being the President.

Actually it's not comparable. Switching quarterbacks mid season is not comparable.

Switching Teams in the Super Bowl is.

Also it's not that "it's not fair" - it's that it goes against the rules of the election cycle. When people don't get to choose their candidate - that's called Dictatorship or Fascism, take your pick.

It is the politcal season....the super bowl wpuld be electuon day!!!! Rotflmao!!!!

Remember that the electors at the Democratic National Convention will have the final say on who the Democratic nominee is -- as they always do. That's what the conventions actually are, not just a chance to broadcast our weird new ear jewelry, bash the news media and have retired athletes rip off their shirts on national tv. The delegations vote in the Convention, and if they don't vote for Vice President Harris, they have that power.

And they do that by the power of the people that casted the votes during the primary. Nobody for a Harris and whomever else ticket.

Some interesting history here. It doesn't necessarily favor the Democrats (Andrew Jackson --ugh!), but it's true and interesting (a test I suggest you subject your posts to also).
