We need to go back to the moon and build a lunar base close enough to one of the sites of the original moon landing. Then we can take all the conspiracy theorists there, show them proof we went to the moon in person, and they'll finally admit that they were wrong and just apologize.

We are going back

Why haven't we visit the moon every since we did during the cold war era we have the technology but I never herd them landing there since which is odd since we sure have the tech but somehow for some reason they said they can't no more

It's because NASA's funding was cut staring in the 1970s, and because most of the general public stopped caring about space flight after the 1969 lunar landing.

Oh OK that makes sense

I'm not much of a conspiracy theorist but I do have a fun what if story what if mars was originally was earth but all humans left on the escape pod and crash land on earth and the meator that killed the dinosaur was the escape pod that we were in how you explain the meator never rusting or all of it

humans emerged several million years after the dinosaurs died
also it wasnt the meteor itself that killed them, it was the climate change that followed did

I know but like I said it's a WHAT IF... this is alternative reality I made up in my mind that was cool

We’re actually going back to the Moon and building a lunar base there in 2032 if you haven’t heard

So is this an experiment to Terra form it or to colonize and try to live there?
0 ups, 5mo,

If you define terraform as to make a celestial body into where a human can properly live there on the surface without any external support like a spacesuit, the Moon can’t really be terraformed that easily, it’s too small to be able to hold an Earthlike atmosphere and it’s made out of lunar regolith, found to be very bad for people’s lungs when inhaled. So no

The NASA mission bringing what NASA calls the Foundational Surface Habitat in 2032 is called Artemis 8. The habitat is just a small habitat, but over time it’ll grow into a larger base. Artemis 8 and the other Artemis missions planned as early as 2025 act mainly in preparation of the first manned Mars missions, and so the habitat will act as like a precursor to a Mars base. It will also kind of act like the International Space Station where crews are sent there periodically and where over time more installations will happen, like a launchpad where rockets could be launched FROM the Moon. Other agencies like Europe’s plan on making more permanent bases, but NASA right now is focusing on using the Moon as a stepping stone for the first manned missions on Mars.

But NASA is still heavily focused on permanent colonization of the Moon, which some people like Buzz Aldrin (the second guy to walk on the Moon) and Robert Zubrin (the founder of the Mars Society, a society of people who advocate Mars exploration which includes famous people like Buzz Aldrin and Elon Musk) disagree with, saying that we should focus immediately on colonizing Mars and not wasting time trying to go to the Moon at all. They argue that investing in things like the habitat is a waste of NASA’s budget.

TL;DR: while Artemis 8 won’t attempt to experiment terraforming the lunar soil it will mark the beginning of lunar colonization.

Wait but isn't owning planets illegal during the cold war yes it would be cool to live in planets but isn't that idk illegal

There was a recent treaty signed called the Artemis Accords which was started by the United States and is signed by like 43 countries as which kind of opposes the Outer Space Treaty which made owning anything outside of Earth illegal. The Accords allow it where if a company or country creates an outpost they can make a claim and then subsequently own that territory
So this kind of rule would follow when NASA lands the habitat on the Moon in 2032

what if they breach the base thinking its a projection
0 ups, 5mo,

If they can touch the walls and/or the ceiling of the base, I don't think they'll see it as a projection.

i mean they'll think window was a screen and break it to see it personally with their eyes if it was real
and if they did that explosive decompression would kill everyone

What about the fact that the moon has one-sixth the gravity of the Earth? What about the fact that the journey to the moon has zero gravity for the most part?

That’s new info… is that’s like from the bank right? I’m fresh out a 6th grade going to 7th so I’m feeling semi stupid right now
0 ups, 5mo
the news story says florida man (of course) went into a bank to get arrested. he filled out the card and asked for the withdrawal. the teller said no and he asked if he wanted him to "say the other word". the teller called the cops.
the entire story is weird
