We get it - it's just an incredibly stupid talking point that would only fool the most credulous of marks.

He and his fixer committed fraud in 2016 to pay Stormy off, which was illegal election interference, and then subsequently committed fraud 34 times in 2017 to cover up the 2016 crimes.

Do you guys just not understand how calendars work?

Ironic asking if people know how things work…not surprising

That’s like saying that the mob is innocent after paying off the hitman months after having someone whacked… because they had to launder the money to cover up the crime which is a crime…

That’s what Trump got nailed for.
Christ on a bike these people I swear…

Exactly this - he paid her off in direct response to the Access Hollywood tape nearly imploding his 2016 candidacy, and then spent a year trying to hide it with checks fedexed to the White House and back 11 times.

It had nothing to do with the election

Hi ex Jehovah’s Witness and while I may have doubt and not be as stringent as the witnesses would have had me be.

I have done my best to live by his teachings including not idolizing false prophets like Trump and prosperity preachers.

This is a prosperity preacher.

Trump is not. He is a America promoter. He just wants our country to be free, safe, and respected.

Who claims to be Christian yet is an adultering, con artist, greedy, lying, and worldly man who claimed to be the chosen one.

He’s is a false prophet just as the prosperity preachers. (And even uses some of the same tactics.)

Also it had everything to do with the election as stated by Trump himself to show co conspirators because he couldn’t afford a sex scandal tanking his election chances.

This is by far the dumbest talking point you guys have come up with yet - he ordered the payment to Stormy in October of 2016, weeks before an election he would have lost had the story come out.

The fact that he committed fraud 11 times over the subsequent year reimbursing his co-conspirator in those crimes doesn't change why or when he did it.
2 ups, 1w,

FALSE... there is no record of any such order... try again.

Nah... just the testimony of a convicted perjurer... thanks...

No, not "just the testimony" - the jury was provided with a mountain of evidence over the five weeks before Trump's fixer testified to his part in the conspiracy, so the veracity of the facts and his part had already been established before Cohen said a word.

What you guys keep missing is, had Michael Cohen been removed entirely from the proceedings, Trump still have been convicted because we heard directly from others he approached to commit the original crime.

Functionaries in the White House and Trump Tower who unwittingly facilitated the crimes, lawyers on both sides of the negotiations, even the porn star he paid off when his promises of helping her career were as short-lived as his stamina in the sack - they all provided the exact same evidence because they were all witness to what he did.

The Feds looked at the NDA and found NO federal law was broken. No federal charges brought against Trump.

Right, but state election laws were, which is why he was indicted, tried, and convicted in a state court.

What state election law in NY supersedes federal law in a federal election? What state law was violated? What federal election law was violated? Bragg never notified Trump or his lawyers which law was violated, which is a violation of civil rights. NDAs are not a violation of any law. Any accounting ledger “error” occurred after the election, therefore could not have “illegally” influenced the election.

The state law against committing crimes to influence an election doesn't need to supercede the federal law - that's not how the 10th amendment works.

The election that was interfered with was the state level election that citizens engage to select their electors, since our system has no actual federal elections.

The law violated was NY 17-152, but the jury didn't need to know that because that finding was from Michael Cohen's case, and was only one of three other crimes we know he committed as Individual #1.
