Exactly, the left leadership did not care that George Floyd had died while being arrested. They just used it to justify the BLM riots. That’s all his death was to them, a justification for creating division.

Quite frankly, he didn’t deserve to die. He was convicted yes, but he didn’t break out of jail, he wasn’t exactly a morally good guy, but he wasn’t an evil person.

But they lied about him and made him a cause.

Depends on circumstances.

I'd say that to prevent the government from abusing power, police shouldn't be allowed to kill ppl. Just give them heavy tranq guns.

I'd say that police should be allowed to kill in self-defense or defense of others. They should also be allowed to kill if they catch an adult actively raping a child. They should also be allowed to inflict grievous bodily harm on anyone deliberately performing sexually provocative acts in front of children.

Police are not entirely to blame for the rise in police brutality, civilians who, for example, kill cops to avoid a speeding ticket are just as much to blame for cops being on high alert in any situation nowadays.

That's not even getting into the absolute horrors many cops are forced to bear witness to on a daily basis, especially in bigger cities. Things like women beaten to unrecognizable pulps by men for no good reason, or children murdered by mothers to teach dad or ex-husband a lesson, or young kids killed by stray or intentional bullets in gangland drivebys, or children pimped out by mothers to their boyfriends or crack dealers, and so on and so on.

It's a circle of escalation that can't be resolved by only addressing one side. Defund the police? How about defunding the welfare state as well?

Ok. That's a lot. Again, that's why police should be a volunteer force. Cuz the ppl willing to do all of that for a job are usually the ppl who are gonna be ok with it.

That's understandable, but there is evidence to support that cops are currently more inclined to violence than civilians.

And I know cops personally, and they let eachother off on all eachothers traffic tickets. It's a social code that extends across states. Volunteer cops would remedy that too.

What he had swallowed to avoid arrest was enough for a possession with intent to distribute charge, a felony.

He was arrested as a known felon, for passing a counterfeit bill, a felony, after ingesting an overdose of fentinal, and resisted arrest a misdomenor. He died while being subdued.
