I was the ONE upvote a week ago and cannot believe it still just has one as it deserved many more! The fun stream is one I either get multiple thousands of views or else few views. I chalk it up to it being a stream that mostly young people frequent and I am not young anymore.

This meme should have bridged the gap and taken off, IMO, however the jet set deemed that not to be the case. Perhaps it was too big a 'deep think' for the average young person today? You are a deep thinker but that is a good thing. The next time I see a silly meme in "fun" that garners 10,000 views, I will think of you. :)

The calculator makes the distinction which I found odd.

Unnecessary but Thank you.

I do not base my self worth on upvotes from the herd.

The fun stream is no longer funny.

Politics stream makes me laugh.

Especially the blue kool aid drinkers.

Eek, screech, scream! 😄

Groovy.

I will check it out.

However, in the end, I make memes to amuse myself.

If others are amused, great

If not, still great.

There is one angry person stalking me yapping some nonsense about alts to up vote my own meme.

I think could possibly be one of those angrily ranting, raised by a single mother, emo types that uses lots of curse words to sound grown up or something.

Felt that. Especially considering the fun stream is pretty much just middle schoolers whose parents don’t let them on Reddit. Though I do get a chuckle out of that politics stream sometimes, yeah

The Fun and Politics streams used to be one - the main stream on imgflip.

An influx of adults and assorted creative types led to the imgflip Golden Era of 2015 - 17.

But in the summer of 2016, hordes of Trumpers started pouring in.

Complaints from the regs that the stream was getting ruined with a flood of identical angry memes on the Front Page, the Downvote Wars, and general haranging led to them being split into the two in 2017. The damage was already done, however, as many the classic memers had already departed.

Politics stream continued on its spiral, distilling into what you see now. Despite the majority tone, it still used to be cool till more recent years. At least you could have fun countering the head butting with banter. Now, of course, humor is forbidden.

In 2020 this deletion/timer thing began, and the Covid Lockdown brought in a tidal wave of school kids. In between both those, well you see the decline that's been happening. Even the kids have been ditching the site in recent months.

This was my favorite meme here of all time, "The Love Project," from way back then. An example of how things used to be and much things have changed:

Alas, it didn't get the traction it warranted, but often that was just a matter of timing.

The fact is that regularfeller is not a regularfeller. He is a cut above and has a lot more than the average bear. Don't let your TDS take over, Modda, as even you have more than a basic intelligence level (but you drown it out with your hatred for Trump). I always say, be grateful, not hateful. Trump is a good man and perhaps you will see it one day.

I had never seen the meme and it is a good one. The fact that you noticed it, means that there is hope for you. Let me tell you something about regularfeller. He lost his wife. He has children. I can't even write the words without tearing up. The man is very conservative....a very smart man. He deserves a good woman but may never find her since women today are "so into themselves" and a lot are SJW types 'who don't need a man'.

I am a woman and have seen this change in women over the decades. I absolutely hate it as I was raised in a different time and space. It is beyond sad to lose your spouse and regularfeller has lived through this so has more understanding of loss than most of us. I believe everyone deserves to be happy and always am optimistic that one will find their true love. I found my one and only love and I wish that for others all the time.

There ya go, that standardized reply I was expecting from you that has nothing to do with what I said.

Bx, NY, NY, USA, remember?

Croydon Rd, Jamaica Estates, Queens, NY.
You know who used to live a couple blocks away from that street?
I've walked past his house. Back in the 1970s. Family friends we used to visit a lot live round there. I didn't even know till 3 decades later he did too. You want to know why? Cuz it really didn't matter.

There are a lot of rich people that live in that neighborhood. There are a lot of rich people and celebrities all over NYC. In fact, there are more billionaires in New York City than there are anywhere else on the rest of Planet Earth, the solar system even. It's no biggie around these parts. Celebrities too. Lots. From all over. Heck, probably more British celebrities live in New York then live in Britain. But Beverly Hills has a lot of celebrities too, so I guess there's that.

I mean, I get it, for other people in other areas, that's a BIG deal.
KOver here? He was just another 1 out of 8.5 million.

THIS is regularfeller. Or, was, as you may have very well have correctly put it.

To clarify my point, all I see when I see him is someone who’d rather be angry at the world than find happiness. I used to live like that, and while I’m not a man and don’t know if it’s different for them, it didn’t do me any favors. But once I let go of it, I found happiness, stability, and even love. And he’s told me he doesn’t want to live without his anger, which saddened me, but now it’s hard for me to care about him at all.

I mean, if you care about him, maybe he’ll listen to you. Doubt it, but if it’s what you wish for, there’s my two cents

I didn't see the comment that you are referencing but I give a lot of leeway to someone who has lost the most important person in his life (outside of his children). I can say that I see a realist, an educated man, a good man, and a 'thinker'. He is not a surface type of guy and he 'gets it'.

He, (and I as well) are angry at Democrats, Leftists, Progressives, Liberals (whatever you want to call 'em) and their hatred for America and Americans. Period.

Did I pass away?

I feel like I have been eulogized.

😄

Thank you for your kind sentiments.

They stand in stark contrast to the self aggrandizing virtue signalling of our leftist peers.

I started commenting on politics with my usual cheekiness because fun stream was full of fortnight and school life garbage memes.

But then I realized how ridiculously zealous the leftist were so I started tugging their chains for amusement and to provoke thought in their closed minds.

However, because they parrot and have no independent thoughts on things, they resorted to the customary name calling and lame passive aggressive insults.

Attempts at debate met with hate.

I cannot take them seriously.

For example, when one cannot admit that he or she realizes a man cannot actually become a woman, now matter the drugs or prosthetics, another cannot find them credible.

Because they do realize this.

They say otherwise but they do not truly believe otherwise.

If they do not like the comments they get perhaps they should pay more attention to their own comments which elicit the like kind responses driving them into their safe space after hitting the flag button.

I spent many months asking why they were cussing people and insulting them instead of making clear, rationale statements of opinion.

The answer - somebody said something mean to me one time.

I have lived a colorful (but not rainbow) and eventful life.

Having been born into abject poverty, I elevated myself and my station in life by my own willfulness, discipline, financial responsibility, perseverance, and labor.

I spent years away from home and many more years coming home only to sleep before returning to work, school, and entrepreneurial ventures, to provide for my wife and children.

When we finally stood on the mountain and I was able to say, "I answer to no man! We made it!", and thought I would spend the next many years in leisure enjoying the family I had long neglected during the struggle to secure our independence, the rug was pulled out from under me.

I have never used this as a reason or an excuse for my words or actions.

Life is not fair.

A man experiences trials and tribulations in life and either overcomes them or succumbs to them.

Survival of the fittest.

I am not embittered due to circumstance, I simply have no willingness to indulge the quibbling of the weak willed and weak minded.

A wise man once said, "eff 'em if they can't take a joke" 😉

Thank you again for your generous words.

Your comment is so typical of you. You take me from LMAO to tears.

You probably don't know this, but we have a grown son and daughter and I copied and pasted one of your comments a long time ago and told them, THIS is how you write an interesting story. Capture their interest at the beginning, you flush it out and synopsize it full circle at the end.

You have a gift that maybe you want to explore when you are not too busy with the kids and life.

You, to me, are typical of good conservative men working hard and achieving for their families. Your username, regularfeller, exemplifies who you are without pomp and circumstance.

Carry on, try to ignore the leftists cuz they know no better. Their train has left the station and there is no easy way to get them back on track.

Cheers!

He lost someone? Well, that definitely puts my conversations with him into a new context, I had no idea he was hurting in that way.

Even so, I hear “[insert political affiliation here] hates America!” Arguments all the time from both sides these days. Seeing them both as frequent from each side, what I glean is that both sides actually care a lot for this country, and have just been radicalized so that the only way they can see the other side is that of a villain trying to destroy our democracy. Heck, every day they accuse each other of unspeakable acts, in an endless loop of hatred with no end. I say phooey to that. If we all care so much about America, let’s start acting like it and work together.

Let’s Pass strong border legislation without it being a humanitarian crisis waiting to happen. Let’s work to develop green technologies while keeping our gas prices low so that when we eventually run out of oil, we’re still going strong. Let’s protect the livelihood of women while still respecting gender diversity. Let’s find better solutions to the abortion issue so that the children live happy lives while women can still feel that we have control over our bodies. If we all champion what we say with no ulterior motives, then we can certainly work together so that we’re all happy, prosperous, and proud to be Americans

Lost someone? What kind of an excuse is that?

When I mentioned last year that evidently I had caught Covid in 2021 from my bedridden mother who had gotten hospitalized with it (yes, it's true I do live in mommy's basement as these nuclear family oriented folks are so fond of saying, or rather her kitchen. I'm a caregiver. I hardly go out. Since 2019. Up until late last year, I used to sleep 3 to 4 hours a day, from 8:30 a.m. till noon. I was so exhausted from doing this for 4 years, I finally relented and started taking naps. At night. I sleep in the day and I nap at night. Go figure), and that although I wasn't tested for it it was apparent I had caught it because after 2 weeks of migraines and feeling sick, my sense of taste was altered again (similar happened in February of 2020, continuous headache for 9 days straight), like for a pecan pie that I had finally toss out.

His response? Change the recipe for pecan pie. Really?

They called us from the hospital one day (my mother was away for 3 months, hospital - 1 month, rehabilitation - 2) after she was there a couple of weeks, and said she wasn't waking up, she was non-responsive, this was it, so be prepared. A few hours later, they called us to let us know that she finally did wake up.

Should I have changed the brand of corn syrup to replace my mother too as per his advice?

Losing someone, if anything, should make someone more appreciative of others. It's not an excuse to lash out at them. For FOUR years. Not to mention, Trump losing isn't exactly what someone would define as "losing someone."

I’ve read The Politics of Losing, I know how Trump won. But if they were happy once, surely they can be happy again. I say give them a chance. They’re only human, after all
0 ups, 7mo
Apparently happy? Laughter?
Those are often coping mechanisms to deal with and cover more negative feelings beneath.

I should know, I'm like that too. Folks who meet me think I'm all happy-go-lucky, always laughing, real loud, joking about stuff. But once they get to know me better, they see that's just the surface.

But I see tremendous beauty in life, and I strive for the joy, and laugh when I can.
I have nothing to gain by making myself or others around me more bitter. There's already enough of that, no reason to add to it.

However, it's a certain deep seated anger that Trump has deliberately tapped into. For some folks, it's almost like a narcotic, albeit a warped one. Ever know somebody that actually seems happiest when they're at their angriest? Yeah, that. It's a breaching of an emotional threshold of which they don't want to return from. That rush of emotion, while negative, is still a sort of high.

I always used to upvote Octavia's animal comments as he and I both love animals. I haven't seen Octavia on any of my memes in months. The bird flew in and out but not Octavia. I do not frequent liberal streams....in fact, I never go to them. I have upvoted some of your comments, Modda, but that is only when I agree with you so not too often.

Liberals and conservatives think entire differently on about pretty much 'everything'....how to raise a child or even how to 'allow' a baby to exist simply because they are conceived. I mean, there is a basic DISCONNECT. No respect for life, no respect for marriage, no respect for country, no respect for traditional values, no respect for men (the greatest single thing that ever happened to women), no respect for the innocence of children.

I am so fed up with the open borders, the fiscal irresponsibility, the woke insanity along with the trans push and LGBTQ+infinity nonsense, the support of foreign nations over American citizens, the ridiculous policies to make America a weak Third World country....I AM DONE.

I could go on but I am stripped of being my REAL self on imgflip due to their censorship. If this comment is deleted and I am put on restriction for posting MY OPINION, I am going on record that I will NEVER respond to you in the future, Modda, as it would be tooooo coincidental to happen AGAIN.

You’re done with how America’s been doing? Okay, what’s your plan to make America better? I’ll listen without bias nor malice

Also, holy cow, you really like men that much? I mean, my husband is one of the best things that’s happened to me, yeah, but men in general? I’d say that’s a bold claim

I respect men so much for what they have done to make America great. I am in awe of men. They are smart. They work hard. They fix things. They are strong. They are compassionate. They are the backbone of our families. They make us mothers. They love us and we love them. What is not to like? There are many good men (and women) on this site but I never think that the country (or families) could have survived without good conservative men. And that is unadulterated FACT, IMO.

My husband said recently, "The best decision I ever made was to buy Exxon back in the day." He stopped immediately and said, "I take that back, YOU were the best decision I ever made." I fell in love with this guy decades ago, have always been grateful to have him and I believe that good men make the world go round.

As far as MAGA, that's easy...get the old sleezy geezer out of the White House and replace him with a man who loves America and is worthy of the title of POTUS as he is a patriot....

Though back to the matters of president, I agree that we can do a lot better than Biden. But even so, how will a shift in president change us for the better? If we assume Congress stays the same, won’t we remain in gridlock and nothing gets done? I mean, what you’re saying is a step in the right direction for your goals, but is it really that simple?

To me, Trump is the man who can withstand anything. He has not faltered. He has been expressing his beliefs for decades and is not PC....he is honest and calls it the way he sees it. He doesn't mince words. Biden is a train wreck. He is an embarrassment. He is everything you don't want in a son....oops, I guess that describes Hunter as well. The Bidens are Grifters and Joe is up to his eyeballs in sleeping with the enemy with his offshore money and bank alerts ad nauseum.

Americans believe in capitalism. Socialism is for Third World countries that will never be great.
Marxism is for morons and we have quite a few of those now. Commies are like Bernie....sad excuses for being Americans.

What beliefs?
He's been doing nothing but flip-flopping for decades, telling everybody but he thinks they want to hear.
TikTok, anyone? Bud Light? David Duke, who's that?

Even abortion, that he brags 'HIS' Supreme Court ended, is now something for the states to decide... as long as they don't go TOOOOOOOOOO far....... here's looking at you, Arizona!

Can't you at least come up with some criticism about ol' Pinprick eyes that wasn't used only a gazillion times on Trump prior? Guy's so awful, he might as well be a Republican. A modern DAY Republican,,,
0 ups, 7mo
I see you think highly of the former president. You must have read his plan if he gets re-elected to, being project 2025. I take it you’re on board with that too?

As for socialism, it’s really a thing that’s good in moderation and horrible if too much. America uses socialist principles every day. Any public service or program, including Social Security, Medicare, or any other welfare initiative is based on socialist beliefs, and it does wonders for us. I understand not wanting to go much further into these beliefs, as it can be a very slippery slope, but to call any socialism at all “evil” misunderstands much of our system.

Or maybe you’re closer to a Libertarian belief in that you think the government should do as little as possible in anything. And honestly? I can respect that. It takes a lot of trust in oneself to be able to live Ike that, not to mention trusting your neighbors will be able to take care of themselves also in a minimal government lifestyle
