100% wrong. If that was Israel's definition, they would have taken the land a long time ago.

Israel's actions are telling us exactly what they want. They want to neutralize Hamas as a threat. So 100% of their actions are to ensure just that. If Hamas were someplace else, Israel would be there instead.

And why do they want Hamas gone?

So that Hamas does not butcher a few thousand Israeli civilians every time they get a bump in funding from Iran.

Why would you think Israel wants the Gaza Strip?
