Our disagreement isn't with science, it's with linguistics. We've changed the meaning of words, and created others to describe what transgender people feel. Even in the LGBTQ community, labels are highly contested because of linguistical disagreements.
The government should force anyone to be a man or a woman. You can absolutely disagree, but it's going to be in bad faith since you aren't using the same definitions as the people you're arguing with.
