The Holy Bible does describes God to some extent. This does not mean that limited humans are mentally equipped to understand the nuances and ramifications of what they have read. Quite often critics latch onto one thing or the other and declare that they know the whole . . . when in reality they are falling woefully short so far as true comprehension goes.
By definition God is beyond most aspects of human comprehension; or at least as far as credible formal theology goes. But the beauty of this is that one is free to believe whatever he or she wants to believe. So if God is deemed to be a tyrant in one person's eyes, then so be it . . . for that person. Other's see things differently, consider other factors, look beneath the surface.
