That is a lot of insults about people that are simply upset that a man is being railroaded by an obviously political motivated court ruling. Seeing every billionaire in America inflats their wealth.

And yet where are the calls for mass boycotts in the rare instances that any of them get busted breaking the law?

They don't get arrested because inflating their assets is a victimless crime, and they all do it, Such is the case with Trump, the loans for the inflated assests were paid back in full and on time. If he was taking out loans and defaulting on them over and over, intentionally acquiring money that he knew he could not pay back, I could see where legal repercussion would be appropriate.

They don't get arrested because they're rich, not that I was saying anything about anybody getting arrested.
"Victimless crime" is something of a subjective view, especially since there is no such thing as a crime without victims. Trump is somewhat renowned for having a bad habit of neglecting to pay many to whom he owes. Even taken to court for doing so.

But this entire trial was for loans that were paid back in full. The banks are not out any money, .. basically he could go anywhere and say I need "X" amount of money and the bank would give it to him then and there. Inflating property tax is victimless, unless you want to take up the mantle of defending the banks interests and fight for them. I inflated my own assets , people do it all the time, as long as the loan is paid back in full, (which mine were always) there is no victim.. and claiming a bank is a victim after the shit they pull on every day people.. that would be a hard argument to convince me of.

No, it was not.
He lied. His trial was for defrauding Deutsche Bank, the last legit bank on the planet that would deal with him. Well, other than that bank in China.

If you or me did that - as if we even could - where would we be right now? And for how many decades?

I don't know, if lying is something we need to prosecute as a crime, I think everyone on the planet is going to be in trouble. Again, No one was defrauded if everyone was paid back in full.

You go to get a loan and exaggerate the value of your assets - I mean first off, you wouldn't get away with it before you even left the bank - and you're telling me you you shouldn't get in trouble for the fraud if you pay it back eventually? Really?

I have gotten a loan on my shop for 250 K when my shop was only worth 150K , I inflated the amount of work I was producing, the bank would not have given me the money i needed without fudging the numbers a bit, its common in business , its not said but yea it happens all the time. The only reason Trump got put through the grinder is because the democrats wanted to make an example out of him, the judge had him convicted bfore the trial even started. That is the long and the short of it. BTw there is no crime of fruad if you pay it back, paying back the money emliminates the claim of fraud. Because no one is out any money or property.

He committed fraud. He was convicted for committing fraud. No legit bank will deal with it because he's such a toxic risk. He has to borrow money from Russian 'entrepreneurs' to do business.

Just because I worked off the books a couple of times (and by that I mean two separate days) when I was 17 at a restaurant doesn't mean billionaires get to cheat on their taxes.

You are really going to try to equate inflating assets with murder? Come on, man.
0 ups, 10mo
No, you are.
Crime is crime. You don't have to equate a word with itself because it is what it is.

You are equating murder with fraud, I been talking about a particular instance in this court case, and you went off the rails and started to compare the crime of murder with fraud. Two completely different things, my man. Murder is not fraud, crime is not crime, There are tons of differences in kinds of crime and punishment. Possession of weed was not the same as possession of Crack, both possession, but one carried a far heavier sentence. I don't get why you are trying to spin this so hard, like I said, take the names out of the equation and you would agree with me that this court case was a joke and a mockery of justice.

No, I am not. I'm simply applying your logic to two different crimes in which afterwards, the perpetrator turned their life around and displayed a different pattern of behavior. Of course, in Trump's case, this 'turnaround' was something he repeated for the same crime (and others) over and over again.

Could you imagine if you did something that the "powers in charge" didn't like and they decided to go back and prosecute you today for the 2 days you "worked off the books" back then? Because I am conservative and post many conservative thoughts and memes on social media , should the government go back 15 years audit my loan and prosecute me now even though the banks were paid off in full + interest? A political court is not good for anyone. Laws should never be politically motivated, Liberal or conservative - the laws should be applied equally to us, and should never be more severe or gentle due to our individual political alignments.

So John List murdered his mother, his wife, and their three children to make sure they could go to Heaven after losing his job, moved, changed his name, remarried, so therefore should not have gone to prison after he was caught decades later because he was a better family man second time around?

That's some fine logic you got there.

The estimated number of truckers that's organizing this shitshow is somewhere between 9,000 and 10,000. Compared with the literal MILLIONS of other truckers there are out on the road looking for a quick buck, I think the city will manage just fine.
2 ups, 10mo
The "shit-show" is Trump having to pay $355 MILLION & both of his sons having to pay over $4 MILLION each. Try getting your stats & story in line with reality...understanding basic common sense and justice without TDS overtones...
