I thought you were joking. I looked it up. $19.5 million dollars for heated sidewalks in Berlin, New Hampshire.
Well there's an exceptional use of tax payer dollars. I've actually been to Berlin, NH. It's a small tourist oriented town. I walked on their unheated sidewalks, in the winter, and I survived. BTW they do not pronounce the name of their city the same as the city in Germany. They pronounce it with the accent on the first syllable, not the second. The "lin" is almost swallowed.
I doubt that I will ever go back to Berlin or New Hampshire in my lifetime. Nothing against NH, it's just on the other side of the country from where I live now.
So then, I would like to ask Pete Bootyjudge what benefit will I get from Berlin, NH's heated sidewalks? He's the one who announced that taxpayers in states as far away as Hawaii, who most likely will never ever set foot in Berlin, will be footing the bill for this project.
Oh... No benefit? Ok then, the government is stealing money from taxpayers again.
