Here's the obvious changes and my thoughts on them:
1. TL;DR: Put more emphasis on the Generators.
Fair enough that you are targeting the outside creator userbase (they use the Generators but don't post them onto Imgflip), they are the majority of the userbase and the professionals are more willing to pay money. But, as I once said, you are "preaching to the choir". While I do think that the Generators should be more prominently featured, Imgflip should also not curtail the streams' visibility for social media users. What is being currently done will have a negligible impact on outside creator growth, and significantly reduce the social media user growth. While outside creators have more revenue potential, social media users are more loyal than outside creators, so having both would help.
2. TL;DR: Remove the next, previous and random image buttons. The new UI makes them obsolete.
While I do agree that they are obsolete now, I don't agree with the UI change, with a design which curtails the user experience. I agree that the next and previous image buttons should go, but I think the 'Flip' button should stay. However, it would be necessary to rework it. It should have a machine-learning algorithm that sends you to a random image that follows your interests, akin to Netflix's 'Play Something'.
3. TL;DR: Make Imgflip Pro more visible, show less ads.
Fair enough. Banner ads are a thing of the past. However, I do suggest you to read up on this:
imgflip.com/i/887j3o#com28876535
It talks about decentralizing Imgflip (i.e. showing other streams by default), and adding a customized machine-learning algorithm that follows the user's interests. In that comment, I bring up about a proposed feature: Sponsored Posts. They would be shown according to users' interests on the website. I brought up the example of a gaming company sponsoring their posts onto a gaming stream. It would boost Imgflip's revenues, as Sponsored Posts would be more expensive than banner ads, controlled in an advertising system controlled by Imgflip themselves (giving more control over ad abuse), while improving the user experience compared to the current outdated ads.
