Leftists are arguably the most racist of the bunch, partly because they don't actually think they're being racist when they do things that are blatantly racist. (Like white leftists yelling the n-word at black cops or black conservatives).
And to them, people like you and Jenna Ortega are only "people of color" when you behave and follow their narratives, otherwise you're white.
Their problem is that, unlike in the time you describe, these days the demand for racism is greater than the supply, so they have to provide it themselves.
