The Dread of Discovery

The Dread of Discovery | If Americans only knew
how this nation
 was founded on the dehumanizing
 Doctrine of Discovery,
where the Church granted
the 'right' to claim land for God and King,
then we might understand
why Trump is dehumanizing
 us now calling us 'vermin.'
The GOP wants a return to 1452,
where Christians could seize any land,
make all the laws, and hold all the power.
This is what "Make America Great Again" is all about:
 stripping away the rights
 of every American
they see as 'less than' human. © Radical Liberal 2023 | image tagged in doctrine of discovery, america, church, vermin, dehumanize, traitor trump | made w/ Imgflip meme maker

I don't remember leftists being upset when Hillary Clinton called half of the nation 'deplorables' and Barack Obama sneered about loving god and guns.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

I don't see any separation clause there. Anyone else? Also that letter to Jefferson was more about people's fear of waking up one morning and finding out their new nation is suddenly Baptist, Methodist, or some other form of Protestant, or Catholic instead of being just Christian or Judeo-Christian based like everyone expected it to be.

Also, also, where was your outrage when state was forcing churches to shut down in some way during Covid?

It's not even explicitly stated in the first amendment. Maybe stop taking things too literally

They did shut down churches during the pandemic but they never stopped it from going online, and it was perfectly legal to do so.

No, it was intended to separate Congress from the individual state's religious rights, of which some had official religions, even taxes that were paid to them. It was a restriction on federal power.

Didn't Slobama say that the first amendment was to keep American politics secular or something?

Ain't seen him in months. You would have to ask him.

Ok, you know how yous got a parliament? Same thing. You know how Australia is a federation of states? Same thing.
Our federal parliament cannot impose a federal-wide religion on all the nations that are federated in this paticular union in America nor interfere with them doing so within their own state if they so choose. Individually. That's what it says, that's what it means.
