Yeah- the same Johnson who opposed literally every Civil Rights bill put before him in the House and the Senate for the ONLY the first 20 years of his political career. You're the confused one if you think he signed Kennedy's Civil Rights act out of altruism: it was nothing more than cynical political opportunism.
