You nail it. It's abundant, just needs constantly improving technology to get it efficiently, which isn't a problem unless government gets in the way. Coal is the same thing, and after the acid rain scam (years ago I saw 2 articles in different scientific journals in the same month, one had a satellite image of the areas impacted by man made acid rain, the other a satellite image of the areas impacted by the ash plume from Mt. St. Helens was identical) we developed clean coal technology that only emits- you guessed it water vapor and CO2. I know of one coal discovery in northern Canada where the coal seam is 400 feet thick, that alone is enough to cleanly power the world for over 100 years.
Regarding acid rain- volcanic acids break down rock to eventually create topsoils. Nature has got this.
