There's more to the high numbers than that; it's Bidenomics + Californication.

Q: What did trump do to lower gas prices?

A: Covid shutdowns that led to less demand.

Hilariously simplistic and wrong.

Here are the facts. Not getting into the reasons behind these facts, just presenting them... because they easily crush the point you just failed to make.

The national average for regular gas on Trump's last day in office, January 20, 2021 was $2.39 per gallon. That's nearly a full year into covid.

November 2021, the national average for regular gas was $3.40 per gallon. That's a 42% increase in 10 months.

Covid was still raging at that time, as it was when Trump left office, so why the increase between January and November of 2021?

Why won't the left's leadership just admit they want high gas prices? Clearly they do, because they prioritize perceived environmental issues over economic well being for the average American.

Biden declared war on the fossil fuel industry day one. The left needs to own up to it. But they won't because their sycophants in the media will lie to the ignorant sheeple. That's apparently how the sheeple want it.

The policy is bad enough, but the lying proves that they know they're doing something most people don't want them to do. They wouldn't have to lie otherwise.

Actually oil production under Biden is pretty damn high. Almost (if not actual) record highs. So the supply is there. The domestic demand is definitely there. Sp- Why are gas prices as high as they are? It's simply greed. Those that control the supply control the price. Regardless of demand. American oil companies are scooping up billions in profit (while we still subsidize the industry with tax dollars) and raising the prices of gas because they can. They also sell their oil on a world market, so while we COULD be "energy independent" in terms of oil production vs consumption, we aren't because the oil companies sell to the highest bidder anywhere they can and it's not necessarily in the US.

In any event the president has very little to do with oil or gas prices...up or down.

He filled up the SPR at a huge discount, and your president blew it on one year.

He flooded the oil market to negative 37 a barrel. The oil producers HAVE TO MAKE UP FOR GIVING IT AWAY FOR A YEAT!. Forgpt that..o guess. Pr not payong attention.

Try looking at the Bond rates as a success indicator....not gas prices.

The average gas price was never lower than $2.00 under Trump. Barely scraped $2.26.

The irony being that Covid was more the champion of these lower gas prices rather than Trump. Meaning the MAGA economy was already in the shitter during that achievement.

Meanwhile, Obama got average gas prices much lower without a worldwide disaster. And, those prices only soured higher once Trump took office.

I guess that means I'll stick with a Democrat President if that matters about how high or low gas prices are.

"The irony being that Covid was more the champion of these lower gas prices rather than Trump."

I disagree. The economy was booming under Trump, so these repeated attempts to make it seem like it wasn't, which requires excessive lying, can't go unaddressed.

Covid was raging when Trump left office, as it was 10 months later when due to Demented Joe's war on fossil fuels, gas prices has gone up 43%.

I'm reposting this:

The national average for regular gas on Trump's last day in office, January 20, 2021 was $2.39 per gallon. That's nearly a full year into covid.

November 2021, the national average for regular gas was $3.40 per gallon. That's a 42% increase in 10 months.

Okay, so that's that. In my defense, those numbers are probably wrong and skewed to make Trump look as bad as possible, since I got them from... (gasp!) CNN... oh, the humanity...

Biden attempted keeping gas prices artificially low by selling off significant amount of our strategic national reserve. If you didn't think he was demented before that, it should have convinced you...

Bidenflation is out of control. Insurance rates, skyrocketing. Food prices, skyrocketing. Fuel prices, sky... well, you get the picture. (btw, gas is almost $6/gallon here in Taxifornia, again.)

NONE of that was happening under Trump.

I would say the measurements of what constitutes a "booming" economy are not great measurements to begin with. According to what Trump measured a "booming" economy was a high GDP and record low unemployment which I've always been suspicious. Both of those we have under Biden who has matched Trump in both categories.

https://www.gobankingrates.com/money/economy/how-economy-performed-under-each-president-since-lyndon-johnson/

Only now are we factoring inflation since we have had worldwide record inflation. Something I, again, don't immediately apply to Biden. How our inflation rate measures to other economies is below average.

I would NEVER insinuate that Trump's economy wasn't great. But to pretend it didn't quickly collapse in his final year is obtuse.

Environmental issues are conservative issues. Economic issues are the concerns of a liberal mind. The only way the government can control prices the way you want them to be is to socialize gas, which I am firmly against and I would bet you would say that too!

Biden refuses to drill on federal land, plain and simple. I've had this argument before. If Republicans don't care about the enviroment and care about a free market, then they need to release those federal lands to the private sector, let them buy it, and drill to their hearts content. But the right won't do that because they want GOVERNMENT to profit, not private oil companies. Democrats are protecting REPUBLICAN legacies by making sure those federal lands are safegarded AS THEY WERE INTENDED BY THE REPUBLICANS WHO WANTED TO PRESERVE THE ENVIROMENT!

And for how long have you been paying $3+? Is it really good to flood the market?

Low bbl price of oil usually means lower gas prices. The domestic oil production is currently at levels now that they were when oil bbl price was way lower and gas prices were as well. What’s the difference now? Where’s the profit going?
