I have some insight into how you think on this subject, because I'm a would be Libertarian (as in, if they weren't a feckless joke of a political party, I would be a Libertarian) and I am called a conservative routinely, which I do not think I am. As the great Penn Jillette said: "You have to be careful as a Libertarian because you can sound very Republican." Creepy...
And being typecast as a conservative gets me into nothing but trouble. I have been personally insulted more times than I can count (even my wife, by some juvenile dimtards) and I have never flagged those posts, and mods have never deleted them. So I know first hand which way the wind blows with the mods.
In your case, it's hard to know for sure which way the wind was blowing in that exchange based on what you said, but I'll take you at your word about that. There's no good reason for you to misrepresent what happened.
Your last comment is spot on. It's the uneven application of whatever rules they think they're applying that makes it that way. For me at least, consistency goes a long way.
