What Federal crimes did he commit? 🤔

Read the indictments; he's CHARGED with four federal felonies related to 1/6 and thirty-seven related to mishandling classified materials. As with everyone prior who's been under suspicion backed by enough evidence to justify bringing CHARGES, he's been arrested, indicted per the 5th Amendment's provision that "no person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury," released on personal recognizance with no cash bond.

Additonally, per the Fouth Amendment's provision that "no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized" his various properties have been accordingly searched, items seized as justified by probable cause generated by his own actions, supported by oaths or affirmations of witnesses. Although unlike many others indicted on federal charges, he's still walking free pending trial so far -despite doing his obvious damnedest to taint/prejudice the jury pool with accusations of bias, racism, discrimination, persecution.

What crimes has Trump committed? That's up to the jury to decide as provided under the Sixth Amendment. Quite frankly, if you think he's been treated unfairly, you're right --and you should hope to be treated with such unfair coddling as Trump by the judicial system if ever you find yourself under federal indictment.

Funny how a special counsel has been appointed to investigate the Hunter Biden matter -which should produce a trail of breadcrumbs leading back to Joe Biden the same way the Mueller Investigation found and followed a trail of breadcrumbs back to Trump -assuming there's any validity to the rightwing nuts' wailings.

It's not the MAGA movement that's the problem (sort of; it has its vile aspects which need to be weeded out but that's pretty much every political movement), it's the "Dear Leader can do no wrong" cult mindset and the lunatics/gullibles who couldn't or wouldn't see Trump for what he is -i.e. the antithesis of the core republican ethos. Also, there's the issue of his mental disability but that's a different ball of wax and, although relevant, is an issue that was largely ameliorated by the Cabinet.

With the slow drip of information coming from sources which include his inner circle, continuing roll-out of federal charges, we're finding out that his exhortations of "law & order" were, are merely a shiny object, that he puts himself, his wants before all else and -most frighteningly- that he made a hard stab at subverting the election, installing himself in power. People like to think that the U.S. could never become an autocracy but the reality is that all it takes is a coalition of the willing... which it appears he had, still has to an unknown extent. And then there's the further problem of what happens when he's out of the picture; the cat's out of the bag and headed for the curtains.

Status quo gets an unfavorable rap but the reality is that in order for a nation not to spin off into chaos, status quo must be maintained with disruptions parcelled out, made only where absolutely necessary, judiciously, in a way that can be absorbed, incorporated into a societal structure as a whole with a minimum upheaval.
