I could never understand how people would aspire to the "minimum".
Trump tried to give everybody maximum wage, and they didn't like that.
No more excuses for not having a job.

You're kidding, right?
How many times was Don the Con taken to court for non-payment?

I would expect that a multi-billionaire real estate developer for over 50 years is going to have, on many occasions, disputes with his contractors. I know almost every small project I have done at my house is always over budget always over over time. The courts are a way to remedy such disputes. That’s not a bad thing. That’s a good thing. That’s an American thing.

So your contractors too have taken you to court because you failed to honor your contract and refused to pay them?

Over budget, not paid, Trump is just a regular billionaire ripping off his hires... This three wrongs make a right then?

This is America. You're responsible for your own mistakes, not vice versa. Even Mr 5th Ave is beginning to learn this lesson.

They do billions of dollars worth of projects a year. There are thousands projects going on at every moment. Of course 90% of the work force is excellent - but as it is in life, some work is sub par. The courts remedy disputes. This is America.
1 up, 9mo,

The issue is that what has been sub par is at Trump's end of the contracts, hence he being taken to court to legally compel him to keep to it.

You're making excuses for him ripping people off. He's got enough people in his employ to do that for him.

gaagh, almost as many as yours waiting for caf lunch to be trucked in?

I'm the sort that goes back in and tells the cashier they gave me too much back, so, no.

What do you want, a cookie? That’s what you are supposed to do. You are supposed to go back in there and give them back their money- the money that they inadvertently gave to you. You don’t get a pat on the back for doing the right thing.
1 up, 9mo
That's. the. point.
Glad I didn't have to explain it to you.
Now you go share that astounding revelation with Trump.

So why didn't he pay them as per the contract and then get the courts to demand the money back after he PROVED that the work was subpar? That's what contract law says to do.
0 ups, 9mo
I don’t know why, I haven’t seen the contract. Have you?
[deleted]
1 up, 9mo,

Really? Because I would expect a real estate developer to pay his contractors the amount owes on the contract.

If he goes over budget, he can use those multi-billions that we keep letting him keep.
2 ups, 9mo,

Unlike you, I wouldn’t expect anything because I am naive as to how billion dollar commercial real estate developers conduct business. It would be stupid of me (or anyone not in the industry with firsthand knowledge & experience) to try and act like I know how those types of businesses are run.
[deleted]
1 up, 9mo
No, you would, because it's in the contract. That's what a contract IS. It's a legally binding document that clearly sets the expectations of both parties. "Don't be naive" does not get you out of a contract in court.
1 up, 9mo,

5 decades in the business, you'd figure Trump would have this payment thingy process figured out by now, complete with a method and legal team for dealing with those taking advantage of his naivete.
2 ups, 9mo,

A company in business for more than 50 years, doing billions & billions of dollars of business and employing thousands of people, would not still be in business if they were doing what you say.

So you'e saying that after half a century he hasn't a clue nor even some procedure he's tended to follow, just winging it as he goes along?

It's actually worse than that. His company only has like 15 people in it, and they're responsible for the oversight of different companies that lease his name.

Which CAN be done that way.... but it makes it even more costly to fire one of those 15 people and replace them with someone who is inexperienced at dealing with his particular method of business.

And if there's one thing we all know about him, it's that he does this a lot more than once out of 15 people.

Most of the jobs that don’t require formal training. Housekeepers. Gardeners. Cashiers. Farm workers. Waiters, etc.

I've been a gardening assistant a cashier and waiter and I can happily confirm these are low-skilled jobs. the liberals are just arguing for the sake of arguing, as per usual

Maybe you were just bad at those jobs. Everyone reading this can think of a skilled waitor they've met just off the top of their heads.

You've never worked a farm a day in your life, have you? Everyone knows it takes three years' labor on a farm just to become effective at it. It is NOT something that just anybody could do - NONE of these are jobs that just anybody could do.

Yes, I have worked a farm. Three summers during high school. Regardless, I wasn’t saying it like those jobs are a bad thing. You asked the question and I researched it. God bless you to help with your anger issues.

He said FORMAL training.

But then that wouldn't matter to you.

I wouldn't have thought you are so inept as to not know what a low skilled worker is.
3 ups, 9mo,

She's not stupid shes ideologically obligated to consider every job as being high-skilled by any means necessary

If wages reflect skills then she loses all justification as to why somebody low-skilled should be paid $150 a day..
So if nobody is low-skilled....ta-da!
[deleted]

It's not ideology. It's just respect for what people do to get good at their jobs.

I was once a low skilled worker.

I mowed lawns, weeded gardens and dig other yard work for a couple of dollars a day.

My first hourly job was $2 an hour when minimum was $2.50.

Then I went in the Army for $277 a month.

When I got out I took a carpentry laborers job for $3.50 an hour when minimum was $3.25.

I learned carpentry and have supported my family for forty years with this skill.

Minimum is now $7.25 and I cannot get laborers to show up for $15.

I have a fellow working now (he has minimul skills and is not a fast learner) that I pay $20, for one reason, he is on time every day.

With you trash talking the quality of their skills all the time, I'm not surprised.

Why do you continue to lie when the words are right there for everyone to read? I said no FORMAL training. Oy vey. This isn’t an argument. I don’t value low-skilled workers less than anyone else.
3 ups, 9mo,
1 reply
People with formal training don’t make minimum wage. They will intern for free. Doctors don’t make minimum wage after med school. Neither do attorneys. A college graduate who applies for a waiter job will be paid less than minimum wage. Even if his degree is in engineering. He will still make $2 an hour plus tips because the skill level of his job dictates that. I think you want to argue just to argue. But then again, that’s what my experience with most women has been.

Flagged and reported for lying and misrepresentation. I said “formal” training, not “no” training. Moderators, please take this down. This is no different than antithesis saying that I threatened her with violence. She is libeling my name as a liar & slandering me over something she made up and is on paper for everyone to read. When will you stop these people from their constant barrage of insults & hate speech?

Flagged and reported. Saying I have memory loss and need a doctor is harassment, bullying and is against imgflip policy. I feel threatened and scared for my life. This abusive behavior must stop ASAP.

MODERATORS - the constant bullying of me on this site is illegal. I’ve reported it over and over to you, and it still continues. This morning I reported it to personally to
Dylan Wenzlau and also to the CEO of ScOp VC at www.scopvc.com/.

The next time it happens, as god as my witness, I am contacting the DOJ, the California state attorney general’s office and EDD. I have screenshots of everything, including the one where Antithesis personally threatened me with violence and wished death upon me. That was forwarded to ScopVC today.

Stop mocking people with a mental illness disease. Making fun of someone because of a possible perceived mental illnesses is disgusting and serves no place in society or on social media. This was a discussion about job skill, not wages. You made it about money when you said that low skilled workers should be paid $400,000, a year but go to far with your constant attack against people with disabilities.
