So throughout history, management of forests were perfect and flawless but by some weird coincidence we've only just now started to forget how to do it all around the world?

That's some nonsense excuse right there.

Yes... how convenient to ignore environmentalists putting a stop to forest management...

I live on the blue dot, this is BC, a portion of it, all that green you see is forest, which roughy a few hundred thousand hectares is on fire, largest longest fire season on record, 3 fire fighters perished so far, fire fighters from around the world are here, some places are so remote, one of those dead was a solo hellicopter pilot fighting one of the remote fires, some human, some lightning, all extensive and uncontrolable. Forest management eh? Sure, I'll buy some of that, some. But longer hotter, dryer springs and summers, decreased warmer snowfalls, depleating rivers and lakes, you gotta be outta your f**king mind if you dont believe our changing climate isnt playing a dominant role in this, naive or blissful ignorance. The Rockies, Bugaboos, Coastal mountain range, grab a rake, giver shit, manage that forest.

Too 'perfect'
THat's why we don't hear PSAs from this guy anymore.

They supressed fires only too well, even and especially in fire-dependent ecosystems such as Southern California's Chaparral or Florida's Sand Pine Scrub. Preventing what is an important factor in their ecology has allowed for tinder to build up while woodlands thickened with mature trees and the resulting heavier canopies, thus creating more shade below and making it more difficult for understory plants as well as saplings from the very same trees overhead to survive.

Now when fire breaks out, they're more extensive as well as intense, killing more plants that would have normally survived thanks to thicker fire resistant bark or resprouting from roots, and we end up with wide swaths of exposed earth more susceptible to erosion than the patchwork of mature and regrowth that these ecosystems usually consist of, depriving other creatures, water systems, soil buildup, etc depending on this ecology.

Also while the seeds of many plant species in them benefit from or even require fire to sprout, recovery takes decades, and then there's the added risk of invasives taking over the disturbed terrain as well,,,

Humans cause 90% of all wildfires.

The majority of western wildfires happen on federal land, which the Governors have no control over.

In Minnesota, we're having big forest fires caused by climate change (ex. the Greenwood fire in 2021). There are tens of thousands of acres of dead spruce and fir trees caused by the spruce budworm. Milder winters since climate change warming result in more leaf roller moths and larvae surviving the winter, causing more budworms in the spring to eat the foliage, killing the trees, which become tinder for the fires.

Which all could've been prevented if the dead and/or hollow on the inside trees were cut down decades ago and replaced with young vibrant saplings. Very little actually scares but when I look out the window and see a forest worth of dead oversized KINDLING, it does scare me. Just because a tree is able to produce green leaves during spring and summer doesn't mean it isn't dead/dying on the inside.
