If I had posted your meme, the MODS would have declared that it was "racist:

Actually The MODS have been pretty lenient with me. This is one that got canceled, but not why I thought it might. I wasn't sure if The Rachel Levine Fruit Pie would fly, but apparently it did. The problem was with Mayor Pete. I think The MODS thought I was calling him a think, but The Urban Dictionary describes a Twinkie as something that is pleasing on the outside, but disgusting on the inside which was where I was going

Well there goes another cherished childhood memory,,,

Actually I'd much rather have those than them other 4, even though something about coconut flakes never did hit my plate quite right. Like Almond Joy. Not the top of my list of chocolates to buy, yet when I do eat it, it does seem alright...

Ten of the first twelve American presidents were slave owners. In total, twelve U.S. presidents owned slaves at some point in their lives. They have parks, schools, streets, cities & states named after them. There are statues of all twelve erected around the country; each is on a pedestal. Some of these slaveholders (Washington, Jefferson, Grant) even have their own federal memorials in Washington D.C., our nation's capital which was also named after a slave owner.

So yeah, this meme is totally legit. Trump doesn’t have anyone in his family who was a slave owner to put up on a pedestal.

If Christian Johannes Trump, the donald's great grandfather, had owned slaves, him having that in common with Thomas Jefferson does NOT mean that he should also be put up on a pedestal.

..........unless you believe any ol' random mf'ers who owned slaves (historically significant or not) should be memorialized on a pedestal. Seems that would be a pretty bold stance though.

Why are you trying to hide and erase history? Why does everything you don’t like need to be cancelled. Why can’t these monuments be a symbol of a much different time? A period of reflection for people to learn from?

Mostly because the typical leftist is a philistine; and also they find it waaaaaaaaay easier and more intrinsically satisfying to destroy rather than build or maintain. That's the leftist way.

So no reply, just a bunch of irrelevant random questions?

Your Q's are the equivalent of "why do you beat your wife?"

I'm wasting my time replying at all.

You have no answer because you are merely being contrary and exhibiting what I believe is troll like behavior.

Woke Google definition:

"What is trolling? Trolling is when someone posts or comments online to 'bait' people, which means deliberately provoking an argument or emotional reaction. In some cases they say things they don't even believe, just to cause drama."

I believe your comments consistently meet this criteria.

Looking back it might be possible TaxGuy misinterpreted what I meant.

My meme about "12 presidents were slave owners & are on pedestals".. "this is worthless"
was regarding their argument presented...... not the monuments.

I saw their questions following that as an attempt at random "culture war" type deflections when maybe it was more in defense of the monuments because they thought I was saying THE MONUMENTS were/are useless.. Which I was not.

Anywho back to the original topic... comparing relatively obscure trump relatives to United States presidents seems like a bit much... Definitely not helping the "cult" image!

Also I still don't know like... where they were going with that argument? Like ok 12 presidents owned slaves and have monuments.. so what? How does this relate to the OP meme "this is where trump would put his ancestors (on a pedestal) if they owned slaves"...??

And as far as their questions I have no interest in taking down George Washington and the other 11 statues of presidents who owned slaves. Hopefully that clears it up.

And ya sometimes I troll... Mix it up a bit from all the lengthy arguments and angry rants all the time.... Especially if I think there is already ridiculousness (possible trolling) happening ...... A few examples: "St. Jude's is murdering children", "the vaccine is actually COVID", " decomposing dead vaccinated bodies will not support plant life", and so on....

Fair enough.

I'm sure they would appreciate you saying that to them directly.

I actually thought I was replying to them at first... After I posted it noticed it was you and not them so I had to go back and copy/paste it into a new comment and change all the "you"s into "their"s.... And delete my original comment where I thought it was them.

But ya this thread of comments has become a bit of a clusterf*ck.

TaxGuy seems to be saying OP meme is legit because 12 presidents owned slaves and are memorialized on pedestals.

So I'm wondering... Why are Presidents who owned slaves being compared with trump's relatives if they theoretically owned slaves...? Like how does that comparison even make sense.. 12 presidents owned slaves and are monuments on pedestals therefore trump's relatives who (theoretically) also owned slaves should also be put on a pedestal? Trump's relatives have no significant historical significance..... presidents clearly do.

Idk. Help me out. How does TaxGuys argument make sense and what doesn't make sense about mine?

Op states that unlike Biden, Obama, and Warren, señor Trump's ancestors were not slave owners.

Perhaps this is to demonstrate that the allegations calling Trump a racist are false.

I don't think the op was stating if Trump did have slave owner ancestors he would actually put them on a pedestal. It's a meme template used to express a point of view. Although you are reading too much into it, it does hint at slave era presidents that are on pedestals.

That is what I believe "tax guy" picked up on and provided examples.

Your reply (replies) was dismissive and seems to be hypocritical and made just to upset and provoke others for trolling purposes.

I will withdraw the hypocritical aspect if you can say you were not a supporter of the removal of monuments and renaming of schools, parks, etc., depicting southern/confederate men. Reason: No one has removed or renamed anything with the names of presidential slave owners.

Also, you never, or rarely, answer a direct question with a direct answer preferring instead to type long diatribes that evade and avoid the question with which you disagree.

You seem like you have the capacity for intelligence. Do better. This isn't about winning or making others look stupid, at least it shouldn't be. It should be about exchanging opinions, ideas, beliefs, etc., to gain understanding and provoke thought.

You want to march into that brave new world and bask in the socialist glow of one world government and others want to maintain the partial freedom, and even get back to the greater freedom that existed in the past.

I believe that addressed everything you requested.

"Trumps ancestors were not slave owners ....Perhaps this is to demonstrate that trump isn't racist..."

If so, that is kind of illogical for multiple reasons but I won't delve into that unless you're interested since that is a kind of a guess on what the OP's intent was.

My original comment here was basically saying I don't think the OP used the meme template correctly... Unless they're a lefty. Idk.

Well I can say my stance on Confederate statues is basically f*ck em.. at least the public ones. Maybe in a museum or something ok. (And that is whether or not they owned slaves.) They tried to literally divide America, killed other people over it, lost, and I don't think they deserve public statues whether or not they're considered a "part of history" or not. I'm sure there are those who also think American presidents should also be removed, I'm not among them.

I will answer a direct question if I think the question is legit. Their first question "Why are you trying to hide and erase history? " involves a multiple incorrect premises and was off topic anyway.

Hmm..
"Your reply was dismissive and seems to be hypocritical and made just to upset and provoke others for trolling purposes."

...5 minutes later...

"You want to march into that brave new world and bask in the socialist glow of one world government..."

Oh?

And as far as "doing better", I don't really care about your opinion of how I'm doing here. My main thing I try to do here is just NOT make an argument about someone personally. I will say it is hard to do when other people often resort to direct personal insults right off the bat though.

No, thank you, I am not interested.

And it is correct that I don't know exactly what the op was thinking, merely some conjecture.

I don't read so much into everything as do you. Dwelling on trivial details is not my strong suit.

What seems illogical to you may seem logical to another and vice versa.

If you are interested in why the op chose the template ask the op directly.
