You're first off a human created by God and if you love God try to follow the ten commandments, love your neighbor and do your best everyday there's no reason why you shouldn't go to heaven. But it's important to understand that not every inclination we have should be followed through on it might not be for the best.

Religion. I come from a religious family so...I duhno. They all just got me thinking "what if God I'd actually real?"

It's just been on my mind for a while. Then you have the homophobes saying we all go to hell. So I'm just conflicted on weather It's worth it or not.

It's better going through life wondering if God exists then never even considering the question. It's the pursuit of truth that sets you free. I'm happy to answer any questions about Christianity in general or Catholicism. I'll try to help if I can.

Well, is there any sort of sources I can look up that can really help me out?

Yes. The Bible.
There is no such thing as Heaven & Hell as far as Yahweh and the Hebrews go.

Heaven was borrowed from the Zoroastrians by the Romans, and in Revelations, it says 144,000 of the Sainted Chosen plus a handful of Gentiles judged on their works shall go. That's it. For perspective, thats 60,000 less than the number of babies aborted in the world PER DAY.

Does that mean billions will got to Hell? Sure, because Hell means hole, as in grave. It might also refer to Gehenna (which was a burning dump back then, now a suburban development), and even one reference is to Hades.

So, we all suffer in the end?

No one suffers, death is death.

Besides, who would want to spend an eternity with a God who created a Hell for people for having the faults he created in them and who don't join his fanclub?

And just look at these self righteous *****s who call themselves saved while judging others (which, according to their Lord Jesus himself, earns them a trip to Hell, "He who so condemns another so condemns himself"). Who would want to be stuck with them forever?

Not to mention they don't even follow the Word. They take one (mistranslated) line out of Leviticus so they can point at certain other people so they can feel better about their own lying cheating sinning selves.

So according to what you say, dying is just like moving away? You just...have a heart attack and wake up in an entirely new place forever?
1 up, 2y
That's not what I said at all.

We are lucky to be alive. We should appreciate that, the here, the now. Not adulate the spectre of an angry old man in the sky because he's going to burn us forever because we are susceptible to the very faults he instilled in us.

But you said sexual DESIRES like- ok, listen. I am not horny. Sexual "desires" y'know they come and go every once in a while. But I don't look at female Ronald Mcdonald.

Uh...ok. so like no offense but you seem to do nothing but post horny stuff. I clicked on your profile and I just....don't exactly know if it's the best Idea to trust you. Again, no offense but...
1 up, 2y
Trust is irrelevant. It is the tool of con men to take from the willfully duped.

So you're asking in your meme if your sexual desires will condemn you to Hell, but then you decide it is for you to judge what I find aesthetically pleasing? CONGRATS! NOW you understand why others judge you - not because you are different, but because you're just like them...

THAT'S why the concepts of Heaven and Hell were created by man - to enslave you as you so desire to be,,,

This is the Catholic stream if you have a question about Catholicism you're correct in assuming you shouldn't put much faith in an anti Catholic just here to troll. Hell is mentioned plenty of times in the old and new testament. The best way for the devil to ensure people go there is to convince them it doesn't exist. Aim for heaven and you have nothing to worry about.

Like is there any damning evidence that the guy is real? Like, people say they found Noah's arc or whatever but how do we really know it was that?

Evidence that God is real? Or Moses? The evidence that God exist is that the universe exists. Logically speaking how could all the unique factors and vastness, of the world, outer space even the human body just happen by accident? Also atheists want physical proof for a spiritual being is not really possible. Jesus who is God became man so he is the physical manifestation of the divine.

I see. I guess that makes sense.

If you love God, you must reject the ungodly, whatever it's manifestation, sexual or otherwise. Consider the examples of Ananias and Sapphira, Lot's wife, or Onan. They each held back "only a little", and each perished nonetheless.

We all have sinful temptations, it's part of out fallen nature. But we must be working to overcome those impulses, not embracing them. Sexually speaking, the purpose of those organs and those acts is to reproduce. We know this because that is the natural outcome of the acts. Therefore, those acts are Holy only within a Sacramental Marriage and open to the possibility of children. Acts outside of those conditions are sinful, be it adultery (sex outside a marriage if you are married), fornication (sex outside a Marriage), sodomy, onanism (including birth control methods of any sort), etc...

So a man might be attracted to a woman other than his wife (completely heterosexual) and still not go to Heaven. Or be using a birth control method with his wife and not go to Heaven,

From my understanding of Roman-Catholic theology and me being LGBTQ+ myself, yes, you can go to Heaven irrespective of sexuality, as long as you have faith in God, accept Jesus as your savior, and do good works; heck, the Roman-Catholic Church is fine with same-sex relationships (though they won't let you tie-the-knot and go marry in a church because in ecclesiastical eyes, marriage can only be done with a man and woman), provided that the nature of the same-sex relationship stays strictly at romantic levels and does not escalate to sexual levels (you need to be celibate in this case).

You see, the Church isn't against the concept of same-sex relationships, they are actually far from it and don't mind it at all in terms of creed - they're only against same-sex intercourse (AKA sodomy in catechist terminology). So yes, you can go to Heaven as a member of the LGBTQ+ community and even have a dedicated relationship with someone of the same sex as well, but you and your partner will have to be celibate within the relationship for it to be kosher in the eyes of ecclesiastical law.

Not according to the Catholic church. Homosexuality gets you excommunicated, even thinking about homosexuality is the same as committing it.

There are paths to God you can take that will accept and support you as an LGBTQ person, but the Catholic church isn't one of them.

Remember not everyone who comments in this stream are Catholics who actually understand what the church teaches. Take their advice with a grain of salt and consult the Catechism of the Catholic Church and real theologians. I can provide some resources. https://couragerc.org/ is a good place to start. In happy to chat with you anytime

It's a dark reality and truth that nobody will ever like. All I can say that as long as you believe in Jesus and date someone of your opposite gender then you may be good. I'd say the dating part cause that's how it works and the way God made it.

Yeah. Uh....about that....I kind of decided I was straight and am now slowly becoming more homophobic by the day.
