No. Those are being investigated separately and, if charged, will happen in a separate trial. This is to do with what he did as a candidate to become president two months before an election.

The crime is cooking the books. You're not allowed to do that. You can't disguise transactions from what they are. If you're paying a porn star but you're calling it a business transaction to a news agency and your former lawyer testifies in court that this was not at all an accurate description of what the payment was, that is so very very illegal.

The person you have been talking to about this has lied to you. Or possibly just doesn't know. Talk to a proper lawyer instead.

The reason he would be arrested and tried over the matter is because of an attempt to hide another crime, which Bragg did not cite, even when questioned about it.

antithesis, why would a NY DA go after a former President over a misdemeanor that he may not be able to prove guilt, if there wasn't another crime being hidden, which would send things over to federal investigators?

Plus, Bragg is going after Trump for allegedly falsifying bookkeeping records with the purported goal to influence the 2016 election, and Fulton County DA Fani Willis empaneled a grand jury to investigate Trump's phone call with Georgia officials wherein he told Secretary of State Bradford Raffensperger to "find" the quantity of votes needed for him to win. Neither election violations would be the purview of these local prosecutors in the first place.

Gee, that's funny. It's almost as if Bragg - who dropped the case against Trump last year to a massive outcry and was thus pressed into this one to show he isn't a corrupt off-the-rack bought tool - WANTS Trump to be acquited on a 'minor' technicality, something usually reserved for the Mafia and other connected crooks round these parts.
Trump, of course, would have nooooooooooooooooo such connections whatsoever in NYC. Nuh-uh, none.

The law applied to the charge has a Part B which would be that Pt A is a first step leading to it, a set up necassary for the rest to clock in. So it would be cooking the books leading to a purpose. Bragg has failed to answer what exactly Pt B is. We got the "what," but not the "why."
Oh, and that Pt B would be connected to an election as well.

Something like that.
