I considered when might his supporters lose stream. And while here at home, I hear many people saying, “eh, if he’s the only option….” Unfortunately, while my state is so red that if you were to tell Trumpers it was, they’d still believe us to be a liberal state. Despite everything we’ve done and consistently voting for the Republican nominee almost every single year for two decades.
In fact, my state was so adamant in voting for Trump, we hit somewhere in the top ten. Yet, in my social bubble, no one is as fired up about him. Haven’t been since 2020. And 2021 saw more of his support lose steam. Perhaps I underestimated the reflection my furiously red state had on the general populous online.
While I’m not yet ready to think, Russia bots or something, as that would be no different in the way of thinking of stop the stealers. Sure, not as severe, but the same mistake nonetheless.
Underestimating them is my worst fear. And that isn’t my intent with this meme at all, as someone said, but I could see how they’d take it that way.
I personally do not want a Democrat president for 20 years just because my fellow Republicans are too stubborn to jump off the Trump train. I’ll admit, the Republican party’s overall policy for the last twenty years, seeing a close period where we might not repeat the mistakes of 2001-2010… just doubled down on the worst foreign policy and the worst ecconomic decisions, completely ignoring the actual economic proposals of past presidential candidates, who lost, for either being too similar to Democrats or not enough to matter.
It has been extremely depressing seeing democrats win when they have but not as depressing as seeing what it’s done to people who campaign and vote for mine. These sad people apparently do not understand the very simple phrase…
Nothing lasts forever.
