Colorado is definitely not the furthest thing from a conservative state. Colorado Springs is one of the biggest cities in the state and it's known for being conservative. At least one major conservative organization is headquartered there.

And that doesn't change the fact that many LGBTQ people are harassed and bullied and threatened in conservative areas.

Go to the link at the top of my comment and read about how adults in Oklahoma made threats of violence against a student just because they were transgender. The school had to close temporarily because of those threats of violence by conservatives. The Jussie Smollett case has f**k all to do with any of that.

Yes, Colorado Springs is the second largest city in the state. This bustling metropolis is also the 39th largest state in the country, right between Omaha, NB and Raleigh, NC. Saying Colorado Springs is the second largest city in the state is like saying that you're the second smartest kid on the short bus.

Just because a CITY within a STATE is conservative does not make the state conservative. Every conservative state has liberal areas just as every liberal state has conservative areas. Once again, you paint with too large of a brush and are quick to overgeneralize.

Example, using your logic: The CITY of Austin is extremely liberal. Therefore, the STATE of Texas is liberal.

First of all, I don't actually know that the shooter was non-binary. Some people have suggested the shooter just said that as part of their defense in court. So I don't know that they actually were.

Second, that incident had nothing to do with my point. You're talking about a mass shooting at a gay nightclub. My comment was about LGBTQ young people in conservative states who are harassed and bullied and threatened by people around them on a regular basis, which happens all too frequently. That's what I was talking about.
