I think communism is worse than nazism. Hitler's reign of terror only lasted 12 years and is still to this day greatly condemned for the evil it is (and rightfully so). Marx's ideas spawned several regimes that lasted a lot longer than Nazi Germany, some of which still exist to this day and communism for some reason is not condemned as much as nazism. There are some people sick-minded enough to defend Hitler's atrocities but there are also people sick-minded enough to defend the atrocities of communism, it seems to be there are more communism apologists than nazism apologists. Marx's ideas didn't only spawn communism regimes but his ideas also partly inspired Hitler's ideas. Hitler did intend to create the ultimate antithesis of Marxism but his ideas do borrow some tennats of Marxism. I think killing Marx wouldn't only have prevented communism from existing but also would've prevent nazism from existing.

Great take. Communism doesn't get condemned like National Socialism does because the folks behind the former were enemies with the latter. Recommended reading and watching: -200 Years Together-, -The Crucifixion of Russia-. Cheers, fellow seekers.

How about the grandfather of them all, Sir Thomas More. Author of Utopia published in 1516. The influencer of communism.

I forgot about him but Marx's ideas really seem more directly the cause of the totalitarian communist regimes.

You should not kill Marx, just talk with him explaning what happen in the future, that will chage his theory.

While I oppose Marxism and all its evils I do think Karl Marx did have a point in some ways and he did address some problems, workers were being underpaid and suffering in poverty despite doing an honest day's work but his solution to the problem wasn't the answer, my biggest criticism of Marxism is its extreme collectivist tennat if destroying the individual. People's individual freedom matters, letting people live their own life the way they want is what let's things act in favor of the people, collectivism unfortunately doesn't let one live one's own life the way one wants and allows a higher authority to tell the people how they can and can't live their lives. As Milton Friedman once said "A society that puts equality before freedom will get neither, a society that puts freedom before equality will get a high degree of both"

I don't think Marx would've listened to anyone who told him his ideas weren't the answer, his ideas were based on praxology, he basically insisted his ideas work without any evidence to prove him right.

Well since you can never go back in time to change anything (assuming you had a working time machine) that could never happen (well except by accident).

Stalin would blush at the staggering death toll of western capitalism.

What about Nietzsche? That particular brand of nihilism is also still poisoning the well of humanity.

Also note, it all came out of Germany. Nietzsche, Marx, the National Socialist German Workers Party.

Molotov-Ribbentrop pact. The fascists loved the communists. Up until they didn't.
