We are hitting levels of based that shouldn’t be possible

When I disagree with Neil, I start my analysis from the position that I'm probably the one that's wrong.

I like Tyson most of the time. I really do.

That said, I think he may have fallen for a bit of Musk’s cult of the “genius founder” here.

Musk has placed a big bet on electric cars as being the future — but just because he’s done so doesn’t mean that’s the only future possible. Opposing Musk doesn’t necessarily mean opposing science, or the future. That’s buying into dangerous cult of personality.

What if the future of transportation isn’t electric cars: but rather, clean, reliable, well-integrated public transit?

Well, then that would make Musk’s well-documented hostility to public transit that much more awkward.

The article says he doesn't like mass transit, and he's in the process of trying to improve it. The awkward characterization is weak. Elon admits that he's weird and until recently never voted republican. I like his ability to change his mind when he realizes he has made a mistake.

Regardless of what you think of him, he is still the only guy to find a way to launch rockets, land those rockets upright on a barge in the middle of the ocean, then launch those rockets again. So until any of you guys here, (in which your guy's best accomplishment is most likely creating a hit meme), can do even half of the stuff Elon Musk is doing for the future of humanity, then you can talk. But you can't, and you are getting upset over how he feels about buses and taxis. If you like public transit so much, then go take the bus to your local park and enjoy some of that nice green grass under the nice warm sun.

It's pretty pathetic how big a deal you have made regarding someone's opinion about something that doesn't really matter.

At the very least we can conclude Musk’s two turbulent months at Twitter thus far have been nothing but a disaster.

People aren’t rocket science. People, as it turns out, are much, much harder.

People get soft when they are protected from people that disagree with them.

Once again: Why do we care what some guy does with his money? It's his money, he can do what he wants with it! I don't see the problem with a rich man simply doing rich man stuff. And on the topic of SpaceX, Elon Musk isn't the only one with a private space company. Blue Origin and Virgin Galactic are two other competing space companies. You may have heard of Virgin Galactic's VSS Unity and its mothership, VMS Eve. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZPrB3WvnZpE). I don't see you talking about those companies. The point is, this is America, and you are allowed to have private companies. It is not the job of government funded organizations to do everything for us. That is what makes America so great. It gives the people a chance to do great things. :)

Its the only thing stupid people know how to say when they have been proven wrong. This guy seems to have a bit more brain cells than the average retard and made it clever.
