Agreed. I'm a leftist and I've mourned a few Conservatives myself.

We can hem and haw over politics but in the end we're all human.

This was based on my own observations, especially on Twitter. From my experience, I've seen far more conservatives say something nice about a leftist who just passed away than the other way around. If you can't say something nice about the newly deceased, don't say anything at all and let people mourn in peace.

Well from my observations there are an incredible amount of parallels (for good or for bad) between dems and repubs and I'd say this is one more. I guess it's fun to pretend we're so different though.

Only because the media and the heads of both parties insists on pitting us against one another. If the media had less bias in either direction overall, people would get along better.
