I don't know whether the defective mods in politicsTOO are there by design or if the owners of the stream are simply out to lunch or just don't care, but it's not my job to suss that out, and there's no upside for me even if I gave af.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: no one is more effective at pushing people away from the left than its own members.

The best part about that sub-area is that it proves liberalism is a problem. Fascist by nature once it becomes the overwhelming majority.

Everyones conversationally held hostage unless they adhere to a series of ever changing unwritten rules that have no known origin. Somebody just gets it in their head that something is/isnt ok today and then everyone starts the witch-hunt. looks like you didn't get yesterdays memo, haha.

Although those pricks will absolutely show up here in this area and whine and b*tch about your memes and some of the mods are on this part too, so you'll get banned....A LOT.

Our rules are, actually, written down. They aren’t ever-changing. And I can tell you the origin of the rules: Me.

This core group of rules has been in place for months. I recently added one rule — “no homophobia/transphobia” — in the wake of the Colorado LGBTQ nightclub shooting, to make that prohibition even more explicit, but frankly homophobia/transphobia was already covered in our general rule against “hate speech and abuse.”

Well, it’s not my intention to do that, but rather, to set all rules forth here so as to not hide the ball.

Well, I hope not. And I don’t think it does. Our intention is to serve as Imgflip’s leading forum for moderate to left-of-center opinions (though outright Communists rarely have a good time on our stream). Somehow, we receive and approve dozens of memes, and 100+ comments, per day that fully comply with our rules.

We’re coming up on our 900th follower. I almost never get any complaints from regular users. What we’re doing is working.

It’s not everyone’s cup of tea, nor is it meant to be — it’s meant to be a community and amplification chamber for liberals specifically. And if it doesn’t fit your needs, good day to you.

With all respect, if politicsTOO is meant to welcome moderate views then the mods need to be reminded that in this context the relevant definition of "moderate" is the adjective and not the noun.

Some sensitivity training wouldn't hurt either. Or at least reminding them that "center" means mid-way between the extremes and not mid-way between moderate and extreme left.

Try it with Real_Politics where basically everyone who isn't a Trumpite gets banned simply for posting - not rule breaking, just posting a simple inoffensive comment. They made that safe-space positively padded, double-ply cushiony soft.

Conservatives stream seemed not so sensitive - but I and others not bearing the Mark of the MAGA have gotten banned from there as well.

I've gotten comments deleted from Poli_Too too a while back, but I've never banned.

Oh, and I got banned from the Anti_Furry stream and, well, you get the picture how things work with a gazillion streams trying to maintain the very atmosphere they were created to foster in the first place.

Perhaps partisaning is not the answer or correct approach?
The thing with 'switching sides' is that,
1. You're still taking one
2. Meet the new crowd, same as with the old crowd.

Now you have to please that clique. Step out of line and, well, by now you should be familar with how things are since 2016. Cults are, by definition, exclusive. And rather restrictive.

I'd be lying if I said I knew anything about any politics streams outside of politics and politicsTOO because I never had any interest in their subject matter. Nor do I care to knowingly stick my dick in a hornet's nest. Plus I'm aware of more than a few conservative trolls who I'd gladly go out of my way to AVOID having to deal with. They deserve a space to do their thing, and we're both happier if they do it without me. Evidently that's something they have in common with the other political streams now as well. Serves me right. I'm a fxcking dyed in the wool pessimist and cynic and I took my eye off the ball. You know what it was? It was a common enemy. And I'm seeing a lot of that now--people I used to think were cool, lashing out at me, because our camaraderie was based on our arrows being fired in the same direction. Once I throw down my rifle, I'M the enemy. Kind of cheapens the label when it's applied to everyone who isn't a fxcking clone.
