They're high for a number or reasons. Dementia Joe's feckless leadership on the world stage is only going to make it worse, since he wasn't able to convince OPEC to maintain current levels of production. So much for his 'fist bump' diplomacy with the individual he described as a pariah on the world stage. As even Feckless Joe said, a president's words matter.(even if he was only running for POTUS at the time) because they can influence events. Yeah, thanks for this influence Joe.
Also, his unabashed all out war against domestic oil production has caused prices to go up domestically. We went from being net energy independent to having a US President go hat in hand to some of the world's worst shithole countries, begging for help. Way to go Joe!
He's in the pocket of the radical left in his own party and is fully on board with the demise of the internal combustion engine. And he doesn't give a damn how much people suffer until we can go fully electric. He thinks all we have to do is just buy an electric car. Sort of like when he told the workers in the oil (or was it coal?) industry to just learn how to code. Remember, it's not a problem for Dementia Joe if somebody else has to do it.
I would also suggest that, at least for the time being, the US economy is the straw that stirs the drink, so to speak, of the world economy. China is trying to change that, and with leaders like Joe they will eventually succeed. But for the time being what we do still matters economically. Joe's inflationary spending, recession promoting policies, and war on domestic oil are not helping one bit.
