I've got a viral image story of my own I've been dying to tell here, and being you seem to have an interest in that kinda shit, you're the one that's finally gonna get it. Right after 911 the world really needed some humor. Don't know how old you are, but shows like Jay Leno didn't even broadcast, the mood of the country was so somber. Anyway, one day I made the attached image, (there was no such thing as "meme" generators), in fact, nobody even heard the word yet. I made it with MS "Paint" and my daughters "Barbie Makeup" CD program. Posted it to a couple "Humor" sites, (this was before Facebook or even Myspace) and it took off like a rocket. Within a month, what happened, since advertising on the Net for normal people was somewhat new, and people in small businesses, (Lawyers, Plumbers, Insurance agents, Real Estate agents, etc.) started using it in their ads as at the time, which was a VERY popular slogan for McDonalds. I had no idea just how popular. The Google image feature was pretty much brand new, and just like how you'd google yourself to see if you are "Famous" on the WORLD WIDE WEB, I typed in "Love to see you smile". PHUCK ! The whole first page was all these ads made out of my "Meme" ! Was unreal, for quite some time, like the first few pages of that query were some derivation of that Gal, and the verbiage. Then after a while? merely the word "smile" generated that kind of result. I was creaming in my jeans ! Now, admittedly, Google's algorithms were much different back then, and they have since eliminated those crawling "Spider Bots" to minimize redundancy, but still ! SO wish I would've taken a screen shot of at least one of the pages. (not sure I even knew how to do that back then, or even if you could) not to mention, the clarity of that image is so low because I purposely lowered the Pixels in it because Hard Drive space was such an issue for me back then. There was rumors that McDonalds somehow got Google to scrub the image it was so pervasive, and supposedly the lady was somehow involved, heard she was a citizen of that town in the Borat movie, but you can imagine how full of shit the Internet was back then, before ahem, "Fact Checkers" LOL Has to be some truth however, as you cannot find it anywhere I've looked. Anyway, that was my 15 minutes of fame, thanks for listening, don't forget to tip your waitresses, and drive safe.
