Are y'all still crying about the mermaid?

No, but you will be crying "racism" when the hack fails.

I'm just getting ahead of the curve to let you know it is their lack of imagination and originality that brings failure, not "racism".

After all the hype you've generated for them? I don't think you should be calling it a failure just yet.

If they succeed, then I'll only be happy for them. I just wouldn't bank on success of a flick that relies on controversy for promotion.

There you go with the "racist" again. So freaking obsessed with race, you make everything about it.

Personally, I don't care what color the mermaid is I think she should be covered with scales head to toe green scales I guess.

The point is this will fail just like the remake of Ghostbusters with all woman cast failed.

For the same reason, go woke go broke.

The 2016 Ghostbusters turned a profit of over $80 million!!!

If you think that's going broke then you are the LAST person whose financial strategies they should be listening to!!!!!

That's their gross over production value. They barely broke even. And this is for a franchise that would have been #1 domestically without much effort if they actually appealed to the fans of the original, instead of gone woke. To this day it is considered one of the biggest failures in terms of lost opportunity.

So, again, you don't seem to know what "barely broke even" means and literally no company should ever be taking your business insight as any kind of feedback.

They don't have to take my insight, the insight is taken from them. There are certain standards that industry looks at. When the domestic market sales don't cover production costs, you've got a loser. The revenues that come from international sales come at a much bigger price and net a much smaller percentage. The "profit" that you're referring to is calculated off of production costs only - this is the one they use to lure inexperienced investors that don't know how to read a balance sheet.

80 more than production costs. You realize that there are much more than production costs, right? You know difference between gross and net?
[deleted]

I don't think YOU know the difference. The movie gross was some $230 million, a different number entirely.
