PG&E is awful, there's no denying that, and CA certainly has energy issues aplenty. But Mr. Pot, I'd like to introduce you to Mr. Kettle.

I don't know whether you were alive when that quote was originally made by Jeffrey Skilling, former CEO of Enron. Either way I'd be suprised if you're aware of this quote's origin, and I know the significance is lost on you.

I'm very much not suprised by a circle-jerk picking on the 5th largest economy in the world when Texas, Enron's headquarters, was in this same boat just last year.

2005: Jeffrey Skilling makes titanic quote
(2006: Jeffrey Skilling goes to prison)
(2007: Enron ceases operations)
2021: Texas energy crisis
2022: This meme
Congratulations for being such a perfect tool of irony.

No need to thank me for the history lesson. I await your outraged deflections. ๐Ÿฟ

There's no reason to deflect- you're "guilt by association", and old associations at that, is unrelated to the actual post. There is no significance that someone made this quote (allegedly) 17 years ago- none whatsoever.

The issue at hand is the present day disaster that liberals are creating, with no better example than that of CA. The fact that they have the 5th largest economy in the world does not immune them from criticism in how they abuse that privilege, rather, it makes them all the more a focal point for such criticism.

Everything about how you "connect the dots" is obtuse. And pointless- let's not forget pointless.

Being in command of trivial bits of useless historical information does not impress.

Clearly you see only what you want to. I'd ask whether you have any firsthand knowledge of California, but there's no hope of trying to influence the thinking of someone whose mind is totally made-up.

Keep slinging arrows at your strawman. My A/C is working fine, just as it was in 2005 the last time this assinine trope was trotted out. ๐Ÿ˜„

I have lived in Cali. I have "firsthand knowledge" and I can tell you that Serenity_Now is 100% correct. That place is a shithole and that is why so many people are moving out. Cheers!

Yes, this place is an absolute shithole. There's nothing good about it. You should definitely stay away. It's crowded enough here already with people who can't stand living in such abject misery. ๐Ÿคฃ

I suppose we find ourselves in agreement: neither of us want you anywhere near Cali. Cheers!

These are the same people who benefit from what California provides, then say it shouldn't be part of the US. Their argument makes no sense

Its population is on track to break the 40 million mark by next year.

Yeah lots of homeless and illegals there. Population does not equate quality of living. The smart people who realize this are moving out.

No onebare replacing them. No one is doing anything about them. That is part if the problem.

We can agree to disagree. You are not worth my time. Keep smoking that pot to makes you cope with that below average standard of living you are putting yourself into.

Bowing out because you're tired of getting ripped to shreds isn't agreeing to disagree. But you're free to believe whatever you want, no matter how indefensible it is. You've succeeded in demonstrating that much at least.

That is what petty, infantile behavior looks like. If that's what you were going for- congratulations! You are a success!!

Now, stomp your feet for us.

My conduct is a reflection of the people who engage me, so it follows that in this venue my contributions wound up infantile and petty. If this sounds absurd, it shouldn't. Your comment to me follows the same pattern...though you almost certainly lack this level of awareness.

Typical liberal- everyone else is to blame for your bad behavior.

Didn't realize it was everyone else's right not to have their bad behavior mirrored back at them. If you don't like the reflection, getting mad at the mirror won't change anything.

Typical conservative- everyone else is to blame for your bad behavior.

It's probably quite a bit higher than that already, counting undocumented residents.

People are flocking out in droves, often to Las Vegas or Texas, but unless they were homeless they sold a house or opened a vacancy in a rental unit that was almost certainly filled as soon as it opened. Rentals have softened a bit, and housing too with interest rates climbing, but Cali remains crowded as fxck.

Thanks to the staggering cost of living, anyone anywhere close to being able to make it work here could easily move almost anywhere if they wanted. I wonder what's keeping them...it's almost as if there are compelling reasons for 40 million people to choose to stay here! Maybe the coast, maybe Yosemite or Tahoe. Maybe their roots are here and it's home to them. Maybe they've never left and it's all they know. Maybe they LIKE the culture. Maybe they like being 2 hours away from some awesome beaches and 4 hours away from some killer snowboarding.

I can't speak for everyone else, but I'm here for the abortions and drugs. ๐Ÿ„๐ŸฅนโœŒ๏ธ

Yes I did lived in Cali, liar. I lived and was stationed in San Diego, can't get better than that, and then moved to LA and lived in Marina del Ray. That state is a shithole, but don't take my word, you want prove? Here it is, start by asking yourself why do you see so many people leaving California? Can't be good if they are selling their overpriced properties and going elswhere....right? Right? Common sense hello?! And stop lying, did you learn anything from your friend Pinocchio?

CA is by far the most populous state, and has 2 of the 3 most expensive cities in the country.

If no one wants to live here, why is there such fierce competition to spend a million dollars for a small, old house?

I was educated by the worst system in the country and even I have a better grasp of basic economic theory than you, Mr. Common Sense. ๐Ÿ˜œ

So I am gonna copy and past what I told OM since it would be useful to you also.
"ย I live in the city with fastest internet in the planet( now up to 25 gig fiber) and affordable cost of living, with no polution, no homless shit and needless everywhere, no contaminated water, no bad traffic, no earthquakes, no issues with lack of electricity and low gas prices compared to commifornia, I pay VERY low taxes. You can take your "one of the largest economy" for all I care, I rather live in a place that is not as expensive and stressful, where living is actually enjoyable every day without depending on drugs or psychologist. Again California is a shitty place. What is "largest economy" doing for you? Yeah go cry and be depressed."

Cheers!

Can't argue facts. Let that sync in. Why would someone like to live in Cali in the first place? You mut be masochist or full retarded to live there.
0 ups, 2y
You offer no facts, though you sure ignore plenty. That that SINK in.

If retards are responsible for silicon valley, Hollywood, much of the biotech industry and a $50 billion a year agricultural powerhouse then I guess being progressive and successful is pretty retarded. Good thing you're too smart to be burdened by such things.
2 ups, 2y,

And again, if it's such a shithole, why does it have the largest economy in the country, and one of the largest in the entire world?

Maybe you chose to live in shitty places, but I can say from personal experience that there are good areas and bad areas in the state.

Being onoe of, not the, largest economy has nothing to do with anything. Again out of context.

I do not live in a shitty place. I live in the city with fastest internet in the planet( now up to 25 gig fiber) and affordable cost of living, with no polution, no homless shit and needless everywhere, no contaminated water, no bad traffic, no earthquakes, no issues with lack of electricity and low gas prices compared to commifornia, I pay VERY low taxes. To paraphrase your own blathering, "the fastest internet in [sic] the planet" has nothing to do with anything. As for your myriad grievances, California must have some pretty kickass features for so many people to find it worth putting up with all that to pay through the nose to live here.

It's good you're happy where you are. You sound very pleasant and well-adjusted. Not like all the desperate losers so pitifully insecure with themselves that they feel the need to validate their hatred to complete strangers online for a place with which they have no involvement. ๐Ÿ™„

Guess you can't argue facts. I mean, I provided you a good list about why where I live is better than anywhere in Cali, all you are doing now is trying to sneak in some insults with your rambles.
Why is having the fastest internet important, and a low cost of living, well since you lack the IQ to put those two togeter I will do it for you. The IT industry is moving to my city. My city got nominated #1 for remote workers. You remembered what happened with silicon valley right? https://www.britannica.com/place/Silicon-Valley-region-California/Explosive-growth. Well, that is exactly what is happening now in my city and a large number of tech jobs are moving over here, just like lots of californians are moving to my city. You be happy with your extreamly high population of illegal immigrants and homeless in Cali, I guess you have that to be proud of. Careful with stepping on those needless and driving on those 3rd world country roads you pay so much in taxes for.
0 ups, 2y
Your opinion does not equal fact. If I with my low IQ am smart enough to know this and you are not, then...let's see if you're smart enough to infer the rest. ๐Ÿคฃ
