Let's use the link you've posted to help determine whether or not the material found in Trump's office and storage shed.

Trump did release specific information. Created a receipt for it, if you will. This is important because classified information involves several different departments. So, if something has been declassified by the President, this receipt is shown to those departments so they know to how to file it.

Trump not The Pope of Secrets. He can't just wave his hand over a document and say "this is declassified now" and have it be so. Agencies have to be consulted, then paperwork has to be generated to notify all the departments, and then an order has to be issued.

There are no receipts for any of the things found in Trump's office or shed. There is no executive order. Nothing.

So. From context, all of that is still deeply classified.

Context? Huh? If you read the link you would see where a redacted set of documents that were approved by the other classification authorities to be UNCLASS were provided. Oh well, I'm sure there's nothing in the crossfire hurricane documents that the Democrats need to stay hidden.

Multiple groups are notified. And then there's a public announcement.

None of that happened with anything in his office. All those Top Secret documents? Still top secret. All that SCI stuff? Still SCI stuff.

No. That's how FOIA works. Anyone can request documents from the government.

The declassified ones.

If he had declassified anything in that office or shed, you'd be able to request it.

But you can't. That's how you know he didn't declassify it.

And, if the reporting is accurate, he had nuclear secrets from OTHER countries in addition to ours just chilling in his office. He had the details of the private life of the French President.

Do you think it's rational and reasonable for anyone to have declassified current nuke arsenal information of our country? Or another country? Of the leader of an allied nation?

But let's say for stupid sake, everything was declassified.

Those still belong to the government. Those are government files. They don't belong to Trump. They belong to the executive branch.

Fun tip: if he claims executive privilege, that means they for sure belong to the office of the President and not civilian Donald Trump.

So, even if they were declassified (they weren't) and even if he is able to declare exec privilege (he can't) THEY STILL can't be in his office. They belong to the government.

No matter how you slice this- he shouldn't have had them, he was asked nicely several times to return them. He didn't. He was ordered by the court to return them. He swore on paper that he had. Then the FBI raided his place to find far far more than they expected.
