All they had to do was keep their mouths shut the moment Trump stepped off the White House lawn for the last time. That alone would've put Trump in the history books for good cause by 2024 nobody, including his staunchest supporters, would have cared about him. Instead the Trump haters had make the worst decision possible and turned the man into a political martyr.
