There are dark elves in D&D they are called drows and are mean MFs. Woke people and their woke shit will ignore everything just to pass their woke agenda and look stupid.

There's a manga I read called 'Goblin Slayer'. Drows are not good or misunderstood in that. Goblins are straight up evil, cruel, sadistic, and deserve zero mercy no matter what. The author went old school D&D rules with how certain aspects of that kind of fantasy is depicted.

How Woke is Hollywood LOTR and Elves?
In the books the Mirkwood Elves aren't known for being attractive like the Rivendale Elves. Normally Elves are 'fair and attractive' but the evil that was in Mirkwood didn't do those Elves any favors. Now they weren't fugly but they weren't as attractive.

One of the reasons why Tolkien wrote the books was because he looked around and saw that England didn't have much in terms of 'myth, legends, and tall tales' like in the rest of Europe. Sure Britain had King Arthur but at the time that wasn't as known worldwide like it is now. So Tolkien decided to write his own ideas based on the then unknown myths and legends. . .and now that I think about it, Aragorn is King Arthur.

He did, and much of his work reflects that. I will say, though, I feel he borrowed quite a bit from Ring of the Nibulung.
