"Christianity is based on freedom, not tyranny"

No? It's based on convincing people they're inherently broken and need a savior. It's also largely based on the Old Testament, which is tyrannical.

And no, the founding fathers weren't all devout Christians. Thomas Jefferson didn't believe Jesus was born of a virgin. That's a pretty important part of being a Christian.

"A deist is not an atheist like some atheist think"

I've never heard a single atheist say that Deism is a form of atheism. Deism is a form of theism, which is the opposite of atheism.

If a country based its laws only on the laws of the Bible, which some Christians want, it would absolutely be a tyrannical form of government. There would be no freedom of religion of freedom of speech.

Christianity isn't based on freedom. It's based on bowing down to a higher authority.

You have the freedom to do whatever you want, but not all things are good. Please read up.

Then that directly contradicts any verse where Jesus tells people not to do things

Jesus didn't tell people not to do things as a command. He did it as a suggestion to live a better life. That's because you cannot go through life without sinning. It's impossible. For instance if you've bought gas you've sinned. You are either supporting an evil totalitarian regime or OPEC.

Jesus never said that buying gas is sinning

And if he's god incarnate, you're saying he only "suggests" stuff? So he doesn't really have any authority after all
0 ups, 2y
Reading comprehension. Supporting the enemies of God is sinning. No, sin is inevitable especially in this day and age. You literally can't live without sinning. So you are meant to avoid a much sin as possible, but you aren't going to avoid it all. His authority is that he forgave all your sins past present and future. So you can sin and still go to heaven, but you should renew your spirit and deny your flesh and build up your treasures in heaven. But you won't understand that because you don't know God.

No, that freedom was granted by the Serpent God. Genesis, remember?
The "jealous and vengeful" God you referred to demands worship, adoration, subjugation and obedience. As if his ego was that much in need of fortification.

I understand your confusion. See there is no serpent God. You are confused. The God of Isaac made a deal with Israel that if they do those things they would prosper and their family lines would exist forever. He kept his word when they kept theirs.

Then you do not understand Christianity. You have your biases against it and that is all you know. The very purpose of life is to choose to follow God or not. God will force no one into heaven.

"The very purpose of life is to choose to follow God or not. God will force no one into heaven."

But he forces people into Hell

The very purpose of life (if there was one, because there isn't) is to live.
God is a big boy. Been around a long time. He'll get along fine without your Fakebook likes.

No He does not. Read the Bible. Stop listening to people who hate Christianity.

Jesus said, "In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you." (John 14:2). "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God," (Ephesians 2:8)

Hell is just having to live with yourself after all of the mistakes you made. That is what it means by burning in hell. Seeing that you can have regrets in this life then that means you will also have regrets in the next life. The only difference is that your mind will be opened to a whole lot of mistakes that you may not have know were mistakes because you never took the time to read the Bible. Those regrets are all up to you. God does not force you to do good or bad, he leaves that entirely up to you. You're the one who has to live with those mistakes not God.

We are all God's children and God wants the best for all of his children. Just like any loving father wants the best for his children. The difference is that God takes a much bigger step back in letting us learn for ourselves. This is the entire purpose of life, to learn by mistake for ourselves. God sacrificed his Son Jesus Christ to compensate for our mistakes so that if we follow Jesus and repent of those mistakes then we won't have to live with those regrets eternally. So if he would allow His son to go through all of suffering that Jesus did for us then clearly that means that God does not want any of us to suffer but He is not going to interfere with our decisions (unless we ask Him for His advice).

"Read the Bible. Stop listening to people who hate Christianity"

You seem to think those two are incompatible

"Hell is just having to live with yourself after all of the mistakes you made. That is what it means by burning in hell"

That's not what the Bible says

"We are all God's children and God wants the best for all of his children. Just like any loving father wants the best for his children"

Does a "loving father" give his kids cancer?

"The difference is that God takes a much bigger step back in letting us learn for ourselves"

He steps so far back, no one can even see him. That's called being a deadbeat dad.

"So if he would allow His son to go through all of suffering that Jesus did for us then clearly that means that God does not want any of us to suffer"

You mean a few hours of suffering?

For any atheist, agnostic or non-religious person who believed that deism is atheism here is a lesson in etymology.

Greek: Theos - God or god(s).
Latin: Deos - God or god(s).

Deism and theism - belief in God or god(s).
Atheism is the opposite and adeism is not a word.

Most are antitheists that is they actively try to turn people from God. An actual atheist would just not care.

That is false. Somebody can be atheist and antitheist at the same time. Those are not mutually exclusive.

Yes. No where did I say they can't. You are once again reading more into what I said than was there.

I distinguish the two by calling some "militant atheists" and the rest just "atheists". But I hold the position that there are no real atheists. To be a true atheist you have to have proof positive that there is no God. Because no atheist possess that ability they are all agnostics.
2 ups, 2y
"But I hold the position that there are no real atheists"

Then you're wrong

"To be a true atheist you have to have proof positive that there is no God"

No you don't. The word "atheist" doesn't mean someone who claims to have proof there are no gods. It means someone who doesn't have a belief in any gods. There's a big difference.
0 ups, 2y
To be a true theist you have to have proof positive that there is a God. Because no theist possesses that ability they are all make believers and teller of tall tales.

Further, as most act and live their lives not in accordance to the very rules and tenets of their alleged faith, it is obvious that they have no belief in diety. Hypocrisy is the only law by which they abide.

Atheists, on the other hand, tend to have something of an axe to grind, a grievance that reeks far more intimate. Their approach to and investment in the subject ironically smacks of someone who IS a believer in a GodS, albeit antagonistically.

Like my Ol' Granpappy Modda used to say, "Nobody believes in God like an Atheist, because with them it's personal,,,"

Strange I thought you identify as multiple people to get around the rules about multiple accounts.
Atheism is very simple. You don't believe a God exists. You just don't care about it. If you try to actively counter people that do believe that's antitheism.
