Isn’t this just most American presidents though? I wouldn’t consider this to be a Biden-only issue.

Wasn’t it Filmore who signed the fugitive slave act, Buchanan who did nothing to stop the Civil War and Nixon who participated in Watergate? Didn’t Johnson escalate the Vietnam War and didn’t Jackson carry out the Trail of Tears? Also, I find it surprising that you of all people are not calling Obama a traitor and are instead only calling Joe one.

Obama may be the biggest traitor of them all but he was smoother on his execution and better at hiding his tracks. He did not leave allow an open border or actively denounce the court. As to the others you always look at the past through modern eyes and condemn. That’s childish, oh and Watergate? What Obama and Clinton did was twice as bad as Watergate. Spying on the opposition campaign and conducting ops to discredit a president.

Do you have a source for any of your claims? Also is this you saying that it was ok for them to lynch black people and kill Native Americans because it was acceptable at the time? And the Buffalo shooting happened very recently as did Charlottesville.

Source? They are all common knowledge which one are you questioning? You realize that we aren’t living in the past. You spend more time in the past than the present. Teaching children their skin color determine if they are an oppressor or a victim happened recently too. Are you saying it Is ok for black people to steal and kill because of slavery? Native Americans killed white people as well. Massacred many women and children as well. You saying that’s ok?

Look duckface, the reason why crime is higher in Black communities mostly has to do with the aftermath of problems created by white people for Black people like the drug crisis and zone divisions. And they aren’t teaching shit like that. I remember when I was in middle school, they taught us about past injustices in Canada’s past like the Residential School System and the internment of Ukrainian Canadians and not once did they call all white people oppressors.

Wrong again, though there are many factors for crime including poverty, lack of a father in the home is a huge disadvantage. Glorifying the gangster lifestyle plays its part as well. 😂 You’re a Canadian? That explains a lot.

True (espically with the glorification and poverty part) but I would state the poverty is related to certain political mismanagement and lack of sufficient means to help counter it.

“But we should still try to solve the aftermath of the problems made by the people that came before us even if they were our ancestors if we want to ensure a world that can be as good as possible.”

Again we agree on the point, but not the method. I think all this can be done without villianizing an entire race. Which really is just racism. America has always worked on its inequities and each generation was closer to MLK’s dream of content of character. Maybe it isn’t fast enough, but dividing the country by race won’t get us there either.
[deleted]
1 up, 2y
Oh and it’s also worth stating that the idea of race in of itself is just a social construct. Slavs, Anglos and Italians may all be white but in terms of origin and genetics they very quite a bit.

I agree with you but people may sometimes mistake recognizing racist parts of a country’s history or current condition s and finding ways to move past it as racist in of itself. How do you think we could make those people recognize their errors?

“Better education in Black communities and finding ways to prevent the problems that influence family abandonment like economic factors and lack of education is the solution to these problems.”

Well we agree on something. Let’s focus more on that and less on “It’s all whiteys fault.” These are multifaceted problems and focusing on hereditary guilt makes enemies of those who might otherwise support such things. I will not be ashamed of my ancestors as they are mine warts and all. I dont demand that Japanese kids stand guilty and renounce their race for Pearl Harbor or the Bataan death March. I will not stand guilty for hereditary crimes either.

I don’t agree that people don’t accept that racism and slavery existed and people of every race to this day harbor racist hatreds or prejudices. Stop telling people they are guilty of being white and there is something wrong with that. That is racism. Stop selling the false racism of disagreement. You will never gain a friend by calling them enemy.

I’m not saying it’s wrong to be white. If anything, that will just go towards making racist people having a harder time accepting anti-racist action.

There are only three primary races. Negroid, Caucasoid, Mongoloid. Everything else is an ethnicity some of which are mixes of those primary groupings. Racial superiority is a myth, each has genius’s and Dirtbags. Prejudices are much more prevalent and everyone has prejudices.

“Because the race of somebody doesn’t inherently effect their performance and politicians in general can only do so much without experiencing significant pushback from at least one group or another.”

So what you’re saying is it’s not a race thing it’s a politics thing?

Almost all problems that the Black community as a whole experiences can be tied to back political mismanagement so yes, it is politics.
[deleted]

All problems regarding the welfare of a group of people whether it be religious or ethnic can be tied back to unfortunate political happenings in one way or another. For example, The current Alcohol abuse issues occurring with reserves in Canada can be linked to the repercussions of past political happenings even if those happenings in question ended years ago. Sometimes the impact of problems can takes a long to time to fully fade away.

“Since they are not native to America, they may not always be subject to the same issues that the native Black community experiences. Many of the people apart of this group have a harder time succeeding due to the fact that they were born into these issues and may have never even gotten the chance to move away from these issues. Immigrants are separate from this group and thus, do not have this burden. They can’t be affected by redlining if they weren’t even apart of the groups to be redlined to begin with. It’s also worth noting that the USA immigration service generally favours very skilled workers so they would inherently be put a higher success rate than a group that, while improving, is still experiencing economic problems.“

I live in California. There are lots of Mexican immigrants. I know many who have their own businesses and own more than one home. They cut lawns or work in construction and work it into something bigger. They did t immigrate as skilled workers. The fact is you can make all the excuses you want but cultures that value family and education do well whether they are immigrant or native.
[deleted]
1 up, 2y
Almost all cultures do this whether it be Native American, African, European or others and you are right. Good education helps create successful families which is why better education in Black communities is one way to help ensure greater prosperity.

So how do you ignore cultural factors? Everything is political? What does politics have to do with fathers abandoning their children. What does politics have to do with glorifying criminals?

There are many theories regarding absent fathers in Black communities. Some suggest the higher acceptability of divorce in society might be to blame while others believe that incarceration rates could be to blame as well. It’s also worth noting that a good chunk of black mothers may not have even had husbands to begin with. Glorification of criminals isn’t exclusive to Black communities (note gangster films like Scarface and other mob films) but could still be a viable factors.

Wait, you're Canadian now? Weren't you Basque in Spain?

You're talking about some drug epidemics, like heroin (prior to it becoming a suburban problem in more recent years) and crack.

"zone divisions" would be getting shunted into inner city slums or housing in less desirable areas of neighborhoods and towns. Plus red lining, which would be discriminatory lending practices for businesses and homes. Then there's gerrymandering for voting districts,,,

Debunked.

The FBI investigated the Trump campaign’s curious relationship with Russian agents, something Trump has continued to do unto this very day. They would have done so regardless of Obama or Clinton. President Obama, in fact, keeping hush about it as he felt announcing it would have interfered with the election, unfairly weighing it against Trump.

Oh I think it should be fully investigated, including Pelosi and the Mayors refusal of additional security. It should be a bi partisan investigation seeking the truth. Not a kangaroo court selling a narrative.
