They Sort of Took a Right not a Freedom

Freedom IS being taken away, though. If the people taking issue with that are who you believe to be "wrong" with America, then you are probably in the wrong.

Well, Clarence Thomas suggested access to contraception, being able to have gay sex, have a gay marriage are next... and we may well be turning over our elections over to the state legislatures depending on how the conservatives justices rule in Moore v. Harper.

Why are you afraid of state legislature? They are elected by the people, so they should serve the will of the people who vote for them. Reality is you don’t believe in democracy and want socialism imposed. Too bad, America wins again!

Gerrymandering is done by legislatures and both Democrats and Republicans participate. Again it depends on who gets elected. Too bad of you don’t like it, you will need to convince more people to think like you do and vote for those candidates. Can’t do it? Maybe your ideas suck.

Are you paying attention? The will of the people won’t be expressed when their state’s districting map is gerrymandered, and it will further be ignored when the legislature sends their own slate of electors, opposite to that chosen by the popular vote in their state. That is effectively taking away any power your vote might have had.

In my state of Wisconsin our Supreme Court has two appointed justices from the last GOP governor. It has a conservative majority and they approved of a gerrymandered map for our state legislature in favor of the Republicans. Currently the GOP has more than 60 seats in the Assembly and the Democrats only 30, even though the elections are fairly close (in 2018 the Dems won the popular vote but the legislature turned out the exact same). Our Democratic governor needs to make an appointment for a Walker-appointed person whose term expired but the Republicans in the legislature won’t vote on any of his appointees, and the Supreme Court is letting this guy stay past his term expiration.

Don’t tell me that’s democracy. Don’t tell me this is okay. You have no idea how bad it really is.

Republicans literally want to legislate LGBTQ+ Americans out of existence. They want more pregnant people to die with a federal abortion ban. And they want to make voting useless to maintain their power. How the f**k is that a win for America? Just admit you’re a fascist.

The next step in the GOP plan is to win the presidency and pass a federal abortion ban. The author of the Don’t Say Gay bill admitted the purpose was to reduce the amount of kids identifying as gay. They are trying to take trans kids away from their parents, and ban gender affirming care.
