Abortion is not a right, so....

And anyway, the rest of what you said about him is just one big straw man.

You need to start paying attention to news outside of your little bubble.

What he is saying is that we need to rethink and reinterpret those decisions. He's not saying that those people shouldn't be treated with human dignity.

Yeah, I'm sure that far-right POS has a ton of respect for gay people. Curious that he didn't mention Loving v. Virginia.

Or allowing them to have equal rights as others, apparently.

Uh-huh.
Anyway... I don't think anybody wants to take away their rights. What conservatives are against is inappropriate sex-ed and school grooming.

Are you just refusing to read this or what.
4 ups, 2y,

Then you didn't read it. He said in his own opinion that we need to go after those previous rulings.
0 ups, 2y
Only because they are unconstitutional.
These decisions are left for the VOTERS in the several individual States to decide. That is
his opinion based on the Constitution.
But you are a Communist and you don't support nor uphold the Constitution.

For reasons other than what you're making him out to have.

If you deny this is a political/partisan court then you're lying to yourself.

An abortion is not a right, much less a constitutional one.
3 ups, 2y,

An abortion is a human right, humans have a right to bodily autonomy.

So I can do whatever I want with my body? Whatever I want? To include murder or some other heinous act?
2 ups, 2y,

Yes, you can do whatever you want with your own body, including ending your pregnancy.
0 ups, 2y,

So the fetus is part of the woman's body?
2 ups, 2y,
1 reply
During the viability period, the fetus is dependent on the pregnant person to survive. Why does a person need to be an incubator in order to have a "right to life"?
0 ups, 2y,

You're absolutely right. The baby IS dependent on the mother. So let me ask you this- why does that dependency make it okay to kill them?
3 ups, 2y,
2 replies
No one has the right to use someone else's body without their permission
0 ups, 2y
An unborn baby is capable of asking for a notorized permit slip from the mother?

We live in very interwoven large societies where people are dependent on each other without even knowing. Most of pre-Marshall Plan Europe was closer to Medieval than modern, as was the rest of the world, if not worse. I don't recall anyone asking me to give my ok to keep subsidizing them in case Hitler ain't dead or if the USSR went and took over.
0 ups, 2y
Actually that's inaccurate. Many people are told to use their bodies against their will. For example men who are drafted to use their bodies to fight.
2 ups, 2y,
1 reply
Because a person has bodily autonomy and you violate that autonomy by forcing them to use their body to protect a potential life.
0 ups, 2y
But is that right unlimited? That's what I was trying to ask earlier. After all, we expect people to do and not do certain things with their bodies, so why is abortion, the deliberate ending of a human life, different?

Also, it's not a potential life. It already is a life.
2 ups, 2y,
2 replies
What do you mean expect people to do certain things with their bodies? A majority of Americans support access to abortion in any or all cases. A quarter of all people with uteruses get an abortion in their lifetime.

Yes, an embryo or a fetus is a "life". But it is also the potential for a life, that is, a life outside the womb. A person who is born. Sometimes, even naturally, this does not happen.
0 ups, 2y
Well, many courts have ruled that a father has to work to pay child support, even if he doesn't want to. Men are also drafted to use their bodies in war. These are only a few examples.

So why does birth make someone a person?
0 ups, 2y
No
They
Do
Not

And, if you don't mind my asking, what is a pregnancy?
2 ups, 2y,

A pregnancy is the development of a future human being, ending in birth if there is no intervention.
1 up, 2y,

What do you mean "future human being"? It already is a human being.
2 ups, 2y,

It will become a person
[deleted]
1 up, 2y
When though? When is the exact moment that person's life becomes worth protecting to you?
0 ups, 2y
When? And by what logic?

Also, how is it not a human being during pregnancy?
1 up, 2y,

"So I can do whatever I want with my body? Whatever I want? To include murder or some other heinous act?"

If you murder someone else, that isn't doing something to your body

I thought you were LBGTQ?
When are you going to get pregnant?

When did I say I was LGBTQ? Do you assume people supporting the community are all queer?

I'm sure it's a hard concept for you to stand up for the rights of another person, save the unborn.

Oh, please...just stop.
Where, in the Constitution, does the word or term "abortion" or "women's reproductive right" appear? Which Article?
Who is even talking about gays or any of the lbgtq+ agenda, other than you?

No one cares who you do as long as they are of legal age and aren't being forced to do so.
4 ups, 2y
Clarence Thomas is talking about it. Pay f**king attention.

"Where, in the Constitution, does the word or term "abortion" or "women's reproductive right" appear? Which Article?"

Where does the word Christianity appear? Or the word marriage? Or the word Bible?

"Who is even talking about gays or any of the lbgtq+ agenda, other than you?"

The people who want to take equality away from LGBTQ people

"No one cares who you do as long as they are of legal age and aren't being forced to do so"

Yes, many people care. There are lots of conservatives right now who don't want same-sex marriage or even same-sex sexual activity to be legal and would love to overturn both supreme court cases on those issues.

Hey genius, why are all of those other rulings unconstitutional but interracial marriage is not? Could it be Clarence Thomas wants to make rulings that are favorable to his own rights, and do not threaten him?
0 ups, 2y
So, you have a problem with Clarence Thomas being in an interracial marriage? Why? Because he ruled against your precious RvW?

Interracial marriage is legal because of civil rights legislation. P'raps [ ;) M, VS, JeH, etc] you should look it up.

This is blatant misinformation. He wants to overturn the federal protection for those things, because the constitution does not guarantee any of those rights, and so legally they should be left up to the states to decide. Because that is what the constitution says to do.
2 ups, 2y,
1 reply
Do you think a state should be allowed to ban interracial marriage?
[deleted]

Like, morally or legally? Legally, I don't know. Morally of course not.
3 ups, 2y
If they shouldn't be allowed to ban interracial marriage do you think they should be allowed to ban same-sex marriage?
