17 were killed in the University of Texas Tower shooting in August 1966.

13 were killed in a neighborhood shooting in Camden, New Jersey in 1949.

And that was before the Supreme Court gave Americans the right to own and carry a firearm in Heller, 2008. Now we have multiple mass shootings a day.

Ty for the heads-up. Both shooters had a mental disorder; decades apart. DC v Heller struck down a DC regulation as unconstitutional. Surprisingly there have been no mass shootings in DC.
When was the next mass shooting after 1966? There was a war in progress until 1975; hundreds of riots, but still very few if any mass shootings in a population of millions owning guns until 1949.

You misunderstand the importance of Heller and the change in gun laws since the 1990s. It has become more common for states to allow concealed and open carry, there are even some states that allow carrying on school grounds. The expansion of gun rights and gun ownership correlates with an increase in deadly mass shootings.

It is true that we have multiple mass shootings a day, there have already been more than 20 since Uvalde, depending on your definition of a mass shooting. If you count shootings where more than 4 people are injured, we have a serious problem with guns in this country.

Heller confirmed what is already stated in the Bill of Rights.
We have a serious problem on many levels in our society; guns just happen to be a convenient form of expression.
When were mental health institutions shut down for political purposes? There's a correlation.
When did violent gun culture video games introduced into society? There's a correlation.
When did divorce begin to increase and single parent families become the norm? There's a correlation.
When did the drugs gang violence become a national pass time? There's a correlation.
Hollywood is still making bank on more intense computer graphic gun violence. There's a correlation.
Police and law enforcement agencies and social services are letting identified mental health cases fall through the cracks. There's a correlation.
And on and on and on.
Society is in decline, and much of that is a political process from both the left and the right.
If not guns, then knives, cars, trucks, planes, bricks, pitchforks, etc.
It's not guns; it's a society in decline and it's going to get worse.
THAT is why people are buying guns in record numbers for 34 months straight.

We have a serious problem with criminals and mental health. Ignoring that and focusing on guns is just lefty politics.

What makes us unique is we have more guns than people in this country and are acting like fools trying to blame something else for why we have so many mass shootings.

We have mass shooting because we have increased levels of mental illness and criminality. We also have mass stabbings.

Apparently 100,000,000+ gun owners do not have the mental health issues that the very few mass murderers have.
