They banned drugs and no one has fine drugs since. During prohibition, all alcohol was banned and it completely disappeared and the entire country became sober. Steroids & performance enhancing drugs were banned in sports and since that day, not a single athlete has taken steroids or tested positive for a PED.

Why do conservatives think that banning abortions will stop abortions?

So you're saying that the workers in the abortion clinics are criminals? I have no doubt that there will be secret places where abortions will still happen or they will all go do some "mostly peaceful protesting" and they will change it. However, if they are law-abiding citizens, no one will get hurt as a result.

The point of this meme is that if you ban guns, criminals will just achieve them anyway and now people are in danger since no one can defend themselves.

The meme is asking if they are planning doing illegal acts already, why would they all of a sudden care about the law and not do it (unless they have a change of heart and morality)

You've missed the entire point of the meme. If a criminal's job is to literally do the opposite of what the law says, then they will just steal a gun (black market most likely), and now us law-abiding citizens will no way to defend ourselves if there's a shootout. The purpose of the 2nd Amendment is to protect the citizens.
